I am going to go out on a limb here and assume that you have the climate control option. You can do a self diagnostic of the system real easily.
Turn the key to the position where the lights on the dash come on, and quiclky hold down the off button on the climate control until all the lights on the climate control come on. This is known as step 1, and it is to confirm that all the lights do their thing.
Step two is attained by turning the temp **** one click hotter. A 2 will appear on the display. This tests all the sensors. Make sure the car is out in the daylight for this one. Make sure after waiting about a minute a zero should appear next to the 2. This means all sensors are working fine. If not the number will tell you which sensor is bad. I am not sure off the top of my head which is which. Lets just hope it is 20, which is all good.
Step three is another spin of the **** one more degree hotter. This tests all the servos that move the door flaps for the air flow. I think this is where your problem is. Let it sit at this step for a minute and look for 30 to appear. If it doesn't then you will know that you probably disconnected a servo, and its number will appear.
Step four lets you try all the heating and cooling combinations... Very complex, just skip it.
Step five lets you see the temperatures that all the sensors in the car are reading... there are three of them... Probably not your problem.
Let me know if this is on the right track. Maybe I can add more if you report back.

well, i went out to my car during my lunch break, and i did what you told me to do, and it worked. evidently i have a problem somewhere. on the servo aspect, (number 3) i got a flashing 1,2, and 4. i am guessing that i have problems with those three servo's, and when it was testing it, i heard a loud snap, and it came up with those err numbers.
i hope i didn't break anything when it did that. but now, how do i go about fixing this? should it be under warenty? or since i replace my stereo, is it now void?
how did you learn about this test? very usefull... thank you very much...

Here is what the code readout is straight from the service manual.
30- Mode door and intake door position switches are in working order.
Continue ot next step.
31- Mode door circuit / switch in vent position switch is malfunctioning.
32- Mode door circuit / switch in B/L position switch is malfunctioning.
34- Mode door circuit / switch in Foot position switch is malfunctioning.
35- Mode door circuit / switch in Foot Def. position switch is malfunctioning.
36- Mode door circuit / switch in Def. position switch is malfunctioning.
37- Intake door mode circuit / switch in Fresh Air position is malfunctioning.
38- Intake door mode circuit / switch in 20% Fresh Air position is malfunctioning.
39- Intake door mode circuit / switch in Recirculation Air position is malfunctioning.
NOTE:
I If 2 or more items are malfunctioning the corresponding codes will alternately blink twice.
I If the Mode Door Motor harness is disconnected repeated display pattern of 31 , 32 , 34 , 35 , 36 will occur.
I If Intake Door Motor harness is disconnected repeated display pattern of 37 , 38 , 39 will occur.
I If any Mode Door Motor Position Switch is malfunctioning the Mode Door Motor will also malfunction.

My guess is that the problem is the servo that moves the door thingy that adjusts between the levels has come disconnected from the actual door unit, or something is stuck and keeping it from moving. I don't know the exact location for the part but that is what I would check out next. I belive the part that is causing all those codes is the mode door motor, and it should be located directly behind the climate control system on the dash about a foot back (giving you a ballpark estimate). Its probably near where you did the stereo install. Maybe a wire got jammed in there? Should be an easy fix, once you find it. That will be the hard part.

Man, your awsome. thank you very much. i will check it out tomorrow. but i also have a bad feeling to what i am going to find. when i did that test, i heard that loud snap. when i tried to show my brother the noise, it didn't do it again. this means one of two things, either the snp means that something broke, ( ) or the snap got rid of a problem. i am hoping it is the ladder, but i doubt it.
i will keep you posted. thanks again!

I fixed it! i took apart the dash again, and looked really close, but couldn't find anything. so i ran the system check again, and i saw something trying to move, but a wire was blocking it! so i moved the wire, and everything is fine! i zip tied everything, and put it all back together, and i have vents again!!!
yay!! thanks a million!!
