transmission problem, help

I got a 2003 Max SE Auto last year. At first beginning, I found the transmission is very tight when I ****fed from P to R (but sometimes OK). Went to dealer, they said it's normal for new car, and it'll be better later on. But after this year long, it is the same, especially when I parked the car on a small slope, sometimes it's so tight that I can hear a big noise from tranny. Is that a big problem? Very harmful to tranny? Thanks a lot.

Use your parking brake.

your car is probably resting on the parking gear as opposed to the parking brake, which makes it hard to shift out of P. especially noticeable on slopes since there's more pressure on the gear. when i park, i shift into neutral first while pressing on the foot brake, then pull the parking brake up. i release the foot brake so i can feel the car rest on the parking brake, then shift the car into P. this should solve your problem.
