changing the head unit

what's up guys...
i have a 2000 max with the stock head unit but upgraded speakers and amps... i know that to get better sound i should change the head unit, i have a guy who wants to sell me his bose unit from a 2001...
the question is will the bose unit connect easily or at all with the original wiring from the stock unit???
thanks for any help in advance...

if your current head unit is not Bose, most likely a Bose will not be a direct replacement. With the Bose system there is an external amp, so the harness and wire routing are different.

I would not say easily, but it can be done, understand that you will need a HI/LOW converter and I would recommend a signal amplifier for your pre-outs.
