i know they are having a group deal on this on maximadriver.com...it looks really cool...i was just wondering if this would help someone like me at all? i'm getting my y pipe installed this week as well as a full exhaust...will this help me at all? is it worth $250? i realize this makes it so you can change your fuel/air ratio and they say it is foolproof where it won't let you hurt your engine...but i'm wondering if this would help me and if so, how much will it help? it looks great i just want to know if there is a purpose to it for me

 

I would say that the APEXi Super AFC probably would not benefit you much. If you were supercharged, it would be a different story. The benefit you might gain from this mod would be very small and that's if you actually spend the time to learn how to set it up correctly. Too much work for me!

As far as the unit being fool-proof, that is VERY FAR FROM THE TRUTH! If you are interested in seeing what it takes to set one up you can visit http://www.roadraceengineering.com/newafc.htm. This site is for turbocharged Eclipses, but most of the data is relevant to our application.

it's another flashy toy that barely helps. and if u tune it wrong u can screw up your motor real bad.

Give me 30 seconds to change a few of the correction settings and an open piece of road. I'll disprove that statement and make you melt a piston or two. The AFC is NOT foolproof. If you lean the mixture and cause detonation, you risk fawking up your engine.

ps. save your money on something worthwhile.
