Some claim higher quality and better fit but I recently bought the "cheaper" one from Warpspeed for 200 bux (instead of 350-400 like some others) and I had no problems with fit, installed it myself also and the quality looked fine. good bang for the buck considering the performance increase....

I think the basic qualities you want are mandrel bent tubing and aluminized steel......good luck

I already had an intake so the y-pipe complemented that, i fell a pretty good increase specially after 3-4k rpms you can feel quite a different pull than from the stock pipe and it screams at 5k+ rpms!
good luck

take it from me i did a ton of research and thought it would be fine to put one of the cheaper pipes (warpspeed) on the car. first the quality is just not there. actually its horrible. secondly you have to remove the cross memeber from the undercarriage of the car. its there for a reason.. the flex section was tiny and ended up leaking. and lastly it hung so low to the ground if my car was lowered i know for sure this thing would be grounding out. i then got so fed up with it that i bought the cattman y pipe. yes i did have to relocate the O2 sensor but even with that this y pipe was built so nice the welds are beautiful and the fitment its great there is a hanger that you can use to hold it up and the second you take it out of the box you know its much much better then the other cheaper knockoff. its just my 2 cents but trust me buy the cattman pipe i know its more money but you dont want to be like me spending the money twice

I was thinking the same thing - you get what you pay for. But I was wondering, do you have any dyno data on the Cattman pipe? I am interested if there are any increases before the 3,000 rpm line.

why is it that people STILL have to relocate the o2 sensor on the cattman pipe? is there a reason this hasn't been fixed yet?

maybe someone needs to contact Dallas at Warpspeed and volunteer their car for a new y-pipe design. It seems like the 5th gens and some 4th gens have the biggest problems with their stuff. 3rd gen guy's don't seem to have any problems with Warpspeed. just my .02!

about 2 months ago i had an order for the cattman catback exhaust, and Cattman called me to see if i have a fed or cali spec car

so they make a fed or cali spec catback exhaust, im guessing they will do the same to the ypipe soon too.

I just got a Cattman Y-Pipe from SWA. They ask if you are a fed spec or a calli spec. The cali spec is very different from the fed spec, requires the removal of a pre cat and has O2 bung on it. I'm not sure what is meant by relocating the O2 sensor. I hope to install mine this week end if I can get the car high enough to work under it and can get the bolts off.

man, u guys are just giving each other the wrong information. Cattman already makes a fed spec and cali spec y-pipe. A quick look at www.cattman.com will yield you the results. Also, it would make no sense to ask for a cali spec or fed spec for the exhaust

cattman is made of stainless steel (www.cattman.com)
budget is made of stainless steel (www.budgetexhaust.com/)
stillen is made of some sort of steel, but ceramic coated (www.southwestautoworks.com) It comes with a second piece, extended for maxima with federal emissions.
warpspeed is made of aluminized steel (www.warpspeedperformance.com)

How much gains are you suppose to gain with the Y-pipes? Are the 5th generations getting about the same hp and torque increase ascompared to the 4th generations?

there is no definite gains as cars/engine vary in degrees from vehicle to vehicle.

i guess a safe estimation would be 10-15 whp

How is the O2 sensor relocated? Dou you have to add on to the wire, or drill a hole for it to go into the new Y-pipe?

A lot people here talking about the warpspeed hanging low and removing crossmember, I just installed my warpspeed pipe last week and its not low and didnt have to remove any crossmember.....guess some depends on your experience, I didnt have any fit or other problem. Good luck!
