From a little research I believe the Z upper intake manifold would add HP to the Maxima.

Does anybody know how to convert a 3.5 Maxima engine into a 3.5L Z engine. I KNOW it is possible with a little work and some parts. Can somebody please chime in and help out this cause. The Z engine puts out 285 HP. I think a big gain could be obtained from the intake manifold alone. I know they are different because I ran the PArt #s.

Please chime in anybody!!!

I don't think this is feasible without MAJOR rework. While they are the same family of engines, the Z's is a rwd application and and the Maxima's is fwd.

the Z puts out 287 hp... but why would you want that intake manifold when SR20DEN is already putting down 248 whp, which is pretty much equivalent to Z crank numbers.

sit tight for him to produce a "secret sauce" intake manifold for the 3.5 maximas
