i think the acura cause it is the closest in performance, luxury, and price in that list of cars... that is the car i feel that people consider when shopping for a car like the maxima...

Acura

Definately the Acura, because both are Japanese designed, front wheel drive family based cars with sport, not sport with family features (3-series.)

I voted the Acura! It's the closest thing to what we have. similar size/style/offerings.

Honda Accord....yeah right
Pontiac Grand Prix GTP.....fast but crappy fit and finish
Mustang.....not even the same class of car and has V8
Bimmer 3 series.....great competitor but not in the same class

I've raced the TL and CL-S....tough competitor.

I vote for the acura as well - i think it is the most closely matched (amenities, performance, etc.) - even though technically it is a (near)luxury car

The one not on the list that's well matched to the Max from a power standpoint is the Taurus SHO. Not as luxurious as a Max, but that would be my pick. I hope this doesn't take four re-counts to pick a winner.
Maybe we can keep changing the rules until we all like the answer! Sorry, couldn't help myself.

My solution to the presidential race was to disqualify them both and try again with new candidates... too bad it didn't happen.

Yea, really.

I was down to my third choice to begin with. My first choice didn't even run and my second choice lost in the "semi-finals." It would be nice to actually vote FOR someone and not AGAINST someone else.

GTP

hey everyone....I started this poll and I have to say the GTP is my arch-nemesis. I just hate them for some reason...maybe it's the idea of a pontiac beating my car. It's the only other real family car I've ever lost to...I'm 2-1 against them. I want revenge....

Hey hawkdog, you have to be carefull, these car have around 300HP and there quite powerfull, but if you put an S/C you will smoke these crappy car. Some american car( mustang , grand prix GTP etc.) are fast but in terms of reliability euhm... once I had a Probe, what a piece of junk, I never owned such a crappy car, after the initial 1 year warranty was over, the week after the car started to fell a part. I'm just like U I hate those 300HP brute, work on your max and next time you'll smoke it.

Do you know what FORD stands for:

1- Found on the road dead.
2- Fix or repair daily. he he he

Have a good one.
