3.5 Headers anyone???

Do you 3.5 Maxima's want headers?

Full stainless steel and cost would be $400-500 a set as long as I can get at least 15 people to commit to a set.

I would need two cars to serve as the test fit vehicles for the prototypes. Once all the bugs are worked out then it will get the green light from me.

From the time I get enough people to sign up it would be two months to manufacture the entire order at once.

Regards,
Bryan

I called Hotshot and told them that my gaskets between the headers and Y pipe blew out and they sent me some nice thick copper gaskets.

thats really cheap, I'd like to see some prototypes with dynos especially after the Stillen fluke. Although I already have headers, if you can produce SS headers with proven gains you will sell a lot more than 15 for $500.

SS is also more expensive than ceramic coated mild steel but heavier as well.

$500 is a good price but too late for me, I got my Hotshots for $550 from SWA.

It seems like the 3.5 Maxima people are more willing to do headers. I can easily do either one but there would just have to be enough demand for either set.

the 3.5 headers should fit up with the 3.0 just fine as long as you have the o2 locations in the right areas.

both HS and cattman have them wrong

The 02-03 headers will fit 00-01's. It's already been done.

Through GD's we can get them for $500...I should have been more specific. I'd be willing to test them for you. You don't even have to pay for shipping (I have my own FedEx acct for just such emergencies ).

they fit but if the weld on the header has not been changed then there still is a clearance issue with the location of the o2 sensor and a metal line off the compressor. from what ive been told, its close on the 02-03 but it touches on 00 cali spec and all 2k1.

If your guy can make a better fitting, better power, easier to install header for less why not?

I agree with Chinkzilla. Give it as shot but recognize that hotshot has some good competition for you. Being a proven header I would pay the extra $100 than go with something that could potentially give less hp. Hopefully that makes you determined to make a better product.

Coby, you would be better off offering these to the 2k-2k1 guys since cattman is our only source for headers. From what i understand(I could be wrong) is that the 2k2-2k3 headers only fit the 2k-2k1 cali specs. Us 2k-2k1 w/ fed spec are stuck with paying 750 for the cattman with no other alternative. I would be interested definitley

At this point, though I appreciate the effort to make more mods, i wish people would start developing stuff we don't have already. If headers is easiest for you, then i'm sure we would appreciate the contribution.

I'm really, really wanting a clutch, and flywheel package for the 6 speed. I wish someone would get the ball rolling on that one already. It makes me sick when i see how even altimas, let alone 350z have so much more mods then we do. I can't believe how many guys on altimas.net are saying they are running 13s, blah blah, we need to get some new stuff.

I can match that price for you. Email me @ bryan@berktechnology.com. Better yet, if I can get people to commit to a set, I can get them made out of stainless for a lot cheaper.

Somebody, skipped town with my money even though I got some of it back i still would not trust him ever again. Maybe I missed something but I think it is kinda funny that you took peoples money and disappeared and then reappeared a year and a half later to possibly try again.

I am sorry if I am mistaken, but if you have a legitimate reason I would like to hear it. Thanks. BTW i am not trying to offend anyone, just inform.

Guys, I went to high school with Bryan. I dunno how much my word is worth, but I can personally attest to this guy being an honest person. I've bought stuff from him in the past and he's been nothing but forthcoming and straight up. I'm sure whatever singular incident Bulldawg had with him was isolated and has been taken care of. There are two sides to every story.

Besides it's just bad taste to come into a thread and sabotage something that could be good for all maximas. Berk tuning has been in business for a while now, and has had many satisfied customers. You should take your issues with him to private e-mail or PM.

IIRC he actually did explain what happened w/that situation a while ago when he "reappeared" here to sell his intakes again. From what he explained, it seemed clear the prob. was not b/c of him trying to screw ppl over but rather a prob. w/Paypal and/or his e-mail sys. Anyway, rather leave it to him to explain [again]...

I don't have a problem with him or his buisness, I just don't choose to deal with them anymore. If he has a good explanation of why he stole from us then that would be fine. Also it wasn't just me, it was several people, but I can only post the threads that I participated in because i am not a donating member. I don't feel that it is 'bad taste' to come to this thread and warn other members of what happened in the past. I feel that it is the morally and ethically correct thing to do, I would feel pretty bad if it happened again and I didn't tell anyone.

If he is doing honest and respectable buisness now then i doubt he will have any trouble selling his product. I would want someone to tell me if they got screwed by someone that I was about to buy from.

That was a long time ago. I'll explain again, it was an error made by the CC processor (paypal) which had my account frozen. All of the money was refunded by paypal to all those people that did not get their orders shipped. I went even so far as to send out free product to people that did not get their product shipped out to them.

I've sold to probably 100's of people out here as well as to the people on the Altima boards as well, there will be some unhappy customers out there. I can't win them all.

I can try to remedy the situation as best I can, despite the fact that it is over a year ago and you had your money refuned as well.

Send me an email @ bryan@berktechnology.com

Regards,
Bryan

With that said, there is no problem. I missed that explaination. I retract my previous statements, and am sorry for the confusion. Good Luck. There is no need for any further actions on your part, since I received over half my money back.

If you only got half your money back from the CC company then show me proof of that and I will refund the rest out of my own pocket. My records never show that there was any 1/2 refunds sent.

If your CC company charged you some sort of resolution fee then I will pay for that since it was my responsiblity.

Like I said, I will try and remedy the situation as best I can.

Regards,
Bryan

Okay, back on track. Who can provide me links to the posts that have the info on using the 02-03 Hotshot headers on the 00-01 Maxima.

So I know that the headers would "fit" but would need to be different lengths due to the obvious engine differences. The tube lengths would have to be altered at least to a certain degree in order to perform optimally.

I don't even think it was so much a difference in lengths, as it was just about the placement of the O2 sensor bungs?

I'm talking about the header primary tube lengths. If you have one header designed for a 3.5L engine, keep everything exactly the same, destroke the engine to 3.0L, you would have to revise the length of the primaries (the smaller tubes comming off of the flange on the head).
