Turn my max into a 2+2?

Recently been debating on buying a pair of OEM buckets or a pair of nismo seats and making the maxima into a 2+2 to allow for a nice spot that the feedthrough trunk will offer for a future system :-D Any thoughts, comments, anyone done this?
Any idea where I can get a pair of OEM black leather bucket seats...other than ebay?
Thanks

Whatever you do don't forget that you have your gas tank under your rear seat so that really limits the space.

or get a 2004

its gonna be alot of work and money to make it look right. the front looks right because there is the console their. you would have to put something between the seats or it would look really odd

What you do is pick up a console from the front of a maxima and relocated it to the rear as well..

I was thinknng about doing this a long time ago, but then again, i was only THINKING.

The middle seat in the rear is useless to me anyways...

you cant jut put the front console in the back cause it will sit higher. the floor isnt the same height because of the gas tank.

I'm in the process of building a center console into the rear seats of my '97 right now. I've kept the rear seat, but the console is being built to float over it from the trunk pass through and rear deck. It's holding a screen, PS2, and caps. It's all being made from billet aluminum and fiberglass.

What you have to keep in mind is that if you put OEM seats or racing seats in there, they will not sit right. The rear seat area is about 6-7" higher than the floor and the seats will mount way high. I've seen a few cars that have done this, and the top of the seats is practically in the headliner. Looks really silly. A better option for you may be to cut the factory rear seat in half and have the center section removed. Any upholstery shop can do this. This was what I was originally going to do until I decided to just float the console over the center section. And whatever you choose, you better be really good at fabrication. Or have a lot of money.

Very true, but all you need to do is take the front seats, and remove the tracks, and everthing underneath.. then wled to the frame.

I was thinkin along the lines of that, but good idea shadow I'll def take that into consideration. I dunno if your year has a feed through trunk...but my 02 does so the only thing I am gonna end up upholstering is the "center seat" area left behind after the seat is removed. In which case tacking automotive carpet or fiberglassing will be relatively easy (thinking about throwing a cap there with a plexi window).
