Would you trade you max for.....

my question is would you trade your 03 maxima 6 speed for a 2000 audi S4 the audi has 2000 more miles then my maxima and it would not change my payment at all. it would just extend it one more year.. Bi Turbo seems to be really attractive. just want to hear some of your opinions

in a word: No.

I would never trade a newer car for an older car......

I love Audis (really wanted an A4 when I bought the max but couldn't afford it) and the s4 is a great car, but do you want to trade in the reliability of the max for a 5-year-old german car not known for reliability? Your call.....

Also depends on your situation wrt family, etc....The S4, I can tell you from riding in the back of one, is a helluva lot smaller than the max, so if you have kids (or will soon have kids) I'd stick with the max..

I would like AWD, though.....and would probably be good for you up in the NE...

First do some research on the S4, find out what kind of problems it might have. The S4 is a awesome car. If I had the chance to get a S4 right now, I would.

probably not

I'd rather keep the reliability of a maxima than an audi S4

I would take a 2000 S4 over any gen Maxima. They are such solid cars.

If you can get an extended warranty on the S4 included in the price, go for S4, it is kick a$$ sleeper. But be prepaired to drop major $$ for repairs, especially electrical. Also, the engnie bay is pretty tight, so it is hard to work on.

The S4 is a great car. I've had my eye on them since the 5cyl versions of the 90's. However unless you are doing your own maintenance and repairs I would do some research on the costs involved for major services. My friend is a tech and he told me that in order to service the turbos(rebulid of upgrade)the engine has to come out on this gen S4. They are tucked way under there. As far as how long the turbos will last depends on the care given. My girlfriend has a 89 Mazda MX6 GT Turbo with 99k miles and the orig turbo. I've had the turbos last me 130k miles and 112k miles on my Buicks which were 86 & 87's. The 112k one is still good just went for a BIGGER one. Hope this helps you.

There is a yellow S4 that frenquents Sacramento Raceway running high 11's in front wheel drive mode with slicks and an open exhaust. Bad @ss! I am sure there are many more mods.

Those are sweet cars, I almost bought one but I was hesitant for a while til I found out that they have a $hit load of electrical problem and the $$$ to repair. Which I woudn't think it worth the investment to keep up on a such a high maintenance car. I learned a lesson from owning german car. They are head turner cars but there is always a price that comes with it, that is high maintenance cars in order to have a reliablity of equalivancy of the Maxima. In the long run of owning the car is going to cost you a lot more than what it cost to own the Maxima. That's the reason why I love my Max, low maintance, low cost of ownership and virtuality trouble free. If you're willing to fork over a lot of dough over the years to drive a high styling, head turner car, then it's you call. Otherwise, think about it.

I was actually looking at 2000 s4 before I bought my max, but after checking out how much it would cost to maintain I got the max instead.I say if you can afford the maintance and get an extended warranty go for it.

i looked into trading my max for an S4. here is the deal like a lot of other Turbo car they are xlow stock, they only run 7psi of boost. here is the up side for around 600.00 you can get the APR 1Bar chip which will put your boost at 14Psi and will put out a little over 300hp or atleast that is what they claim. what i did was fidn an AUDI Forum like this onw and look at the diffrent problems they have. Most seem to be electrical which froma mechanical stand point is one of the bigest pains in the butt there is. but on the plus side i saw and S4 at the track run a low 13 in the 1/4 and all he had was the chip and a Turbo time. hope this helps

The only car I would trade my Max in for is a 2005 G35 sedan and since I love driving the Max and plan on keeping it a very long time, nothing on the market looks attractive enough to get me to switch.

Other cars I would consider:
Dodge Hemi Charger (concept)
Dodge Hemi Magnum
Dodge Hemi 300C
Acura TL
BMW M3 or M5 (very expensive)

Look at it's maintenance records...if Audi/VW can last the first few years without any issues...the chances are that they will last forever...
I say go for it if YOU really want to...who cares what others say...

I wouldn't trade. I always see audi's with burned out tail lights which Im sure is just the icing on the electrical problem cake. I bought my Max for the bang for the buck, and Im still happy with it. Good luck.

audi S4 is a sweet car. Look into it, what the hell. See if you can get a good xtended wtty. You keep that S4 and sell it when the wtty will expire.

S4 is as fast as or slightly slower a stock 6 speed, and uch slower than 02 with bolt ons. However they have better suspension
