wow at $750 shipped, I'm definately interested. Thats an incredible price for a set of real coilovers. K Pazzo, have you tried any stiffer settings and taking some sweeping turns? Any impressions on auto-X-ability?

I bet 15+ people are interested in this Coilover. Maybe even 30+ if that includes 4th and 5th gen.....This could rack up a very cheap price for the GD....Can someone say $600 shipped ^_^

$600 I'd do. I'm not sure I'd pay $800 for this brand...

I hope these are not like the S-Tech springs that everyone had to have when they first came out. Now the ForSale section is flooded with people trying to get rid of them

I would definiteliy be interested. Maybe we can get at least 30 people (from 4th and 5th gen) and purchase them at even lower price?

If there is a group deal to be started, then start the thread in the GD forum... NOT HERE. Don't post to get on a list here...

Group deal huh? who's the seller?

Well I preordered with Mike today. He said it'd be about a month until they get them in. Maybe if a GD happens I can cancel.

k pazzo 6 - has there been a DEFINITE answer as to whether or not these retain the suspension travel when lowered?

Or maybe I should ask, how is the lowering handled, through the spring perch?

What the heck is going on here.

Perhaps I'm interpreting this wrong but here's what I'm seeing. K Pazzo put a ton of work into this, including establishing a relationship with a vendor. Then you jump into this thread at the end and try and grab the sales. Maybe your intentions were good, but your actions seem very inconsiderate. We should be letting K Pazzo run with this. The only other vendor that should even be considered at this point is Max4Speed who is an established vendor for the org community and has been involved with this deal from the start. Again, perhaps I'm getting wrong, so feel free to correct me. Until then, I will not purchase from your group deal.

Thats sorta my feeling as well. Plus, with some of the individuals on this board that say me, me, me....and then never show at the time the money is required. Then you have middlemen (not saying ANYBODY that is doing the D2's is crooked) that seem to disappear in the middle of a transaction...nah...not for me.

Mike was straight forward and pleasant. At the price he quoted me, seems more than fair for what I would be getting. And I also agree, Max4Speed would be the only other guy I would purchase these from. When you start forking out this kind of money, I need reputation and proven honesty.

And the reason prices are all over the place is that there are a lot of guesses. I called Mike, got and actual price...so I am good with that one.

Good Luck People!

This is BS. I am not signing any group deal with anybody unless KPazzo6 gives the OK. He was the one that went out on a limb to try these.

As far as I can tell, KPazzo6 was the test mule. Wasnt to sure he was going to organize the group deal. He is testing fit/finish/conformity/ride quality.

Mike is the guy at UrbanImport that sold him his D2's, and he (Mike) is the guy I talked to and pre-ordered from.

EDIT: My spelling and sentence structure is horrific.

I am still in contact with 2 of my distributors regarding these coilovers. I want to make sure everything is fine before I start collecting money. Once I tried a GD for TEINs but one of my distributors screwed it up and I ended up on the wrong side. Since I am off from work these days I have plenty of time to organise a good group buy. I am sure I can get the price down but I want Kpazzo to post a feedback on this thread so everyone knows what they are getting.

Kpazzo - You Have got PM!

Yeah that sound fair. Lets wait for Phil's response.
And maybe we can get Mike to take $50 or so off of his price if more people want it. That would make me happy.

After I get some more feedback about ride quality, I might just drive over there and purchase them myself. UrbanImports is right down the road for me.

I called Mike@UrbanImports today...(Happy Hour delayed my response)...

He said that:
1) suspension travel is maintained.
2) Preload on the spring is adjusted by "2" bolts under the lower spring perch
3) Height is adjusted by a "third" bolt that is underneath the 2 bolts for the preload.

Now that we got the whole "suspention travel" thing cleared up. Lets get a GD going....and I seriously want to buy these coilovers for mad cheaps (700 shipped if possible).....So lets rack up a bunch of people NOW!!!

oh yeah btw the rear upper strut mounts have to be re-used for the rear coilovers? So only the fronts are direct bolt-on and the rears must be compressed with a spring compressor on the stock unit then transfered to the D2s? Correct me if I am wrong

Geez guys, there is a phone number up there...call the dude.

I got THAT information a while ago. Currently they (Urban Imports) do the rebuilds. But, in their years of business (of which I dont know how many...or even IF its a year) they have not had to rebuild or been asked to rebuild one.

Mike said that "you" can ship them the whole assemblies (yeah..thats a tough part to swallow) so they can rebuild...OR you can request the parts to rebuild yourself and send the old, used up parts back. Depends on your comfort and or DYI level.

If you ship the parts to him, he promises from the day he signs for them it will be 2-3 day turn around.

As for price, didnt really matter. If they need rebuilt...they need rebuilt. Right?

Yes, that is accurate. Although you are going to want to compress the springs on the new units as well in order to have some "slack" to move and position the new assembly so its easier to install.

Why would these need to be "rebuilt"? Is this if they're worn down after heavy use?
