Is the stillen FSTB worth the extra $100?

Sometime in the future I want to get a FSTB, but I am note sure if I will get the one from custom maxima or a stillen one since the stillen is about $100 more. Is the stillen one worth it or not?

NOT! You can get the look alike Stillen bar for as low as $40 shipped...check out the group deal forum.

The stillen bar is usually lighter and stronger than most other FSTBs but is does cost a lot more.

You will not notice a real difference between FSTBs unless you get a cheap one that flexes easy or is loose..

here's the deal the reason that the stillen is so expensive is that they pay for the research for the mod. the look alikes do not. so i say it is worth it because you will be helping research for future mods. just my opinion.

no, you are simply paying for the stillen name. how much research really went into it? did they invent the FSTB??

Easy answer, It dependes on how much money you really want to spend. If it is for looks, you have a few choices, Stillen, Cattman and Custom Maxima. For the Price Custom Maxima, this is the one I have on my car and works fine, and it also looks good...

FSTB is a simple bar... it has no intelligence. How much research does it take to make FSTB? When you buy Stillen, you are paying for the brand name... their products are high quality, no doubt about it but they rip you off... its kind of like buying BOSE.

research
hahaha support it? give me a break, they have plenty of money without you or me supporting it. for hungry kids maybe, for FSTB i dont think so.

i got the one from ebay for like $28 shipped. all you need.
if u want looks, might as well paint the one from ebay and put a stillen sticker on it. that will cost you less than $15, let alone $100.

The FSTB is a piece of metal. I can guarantee you that Stillen's metal isn't coming from a different supplier.

No need to pay extra for the name unless you want. Some people have said the cheap ones have a little play since they use joints but you can fix that play yourself for 1$. If not less.

Speaking from a stillen FSTB owner... go with the cheap one and buy an intake too!

I recently bought the Vibrant FSTB from Mopac in Vancouver, BC for C$40 plus tax. Apparently it is the same one that Custom Maxima is flogging for US$69. Its made out of rigid aircraft aluminum and looks good. I also bought a K&N panel air filter there for slightly more in C$ than they are being sold for on the internet in the US. Caveat emptor!

that is of course because they did even more research then stillen did (lazy bastards) so it MUST be a better long piece of metal.
i have the OTTO one. then i took sandpaper and "brushed it". got rid of the "otto racing" and it matches my engine cover better and matches all my other brushed aluminum stuff (dash kit, AE pedals, and door sills that i brushed)
