Stillen RSB install question/problem.

The first time it was installed incorrectly by someone else (it was banging against the lower link because he put it in too far back - both of our faults though, we didn't read the instructions ).

After taking it out, I spent two hours trying to re-install it by myself since I know what needs to be done to get it in there, move it back and use the suggested holes (3 and 5 for those that know)...........mission failed. I also decided to ruin one of the nuts by tearing up the threads inside, making it impossible to screw on now (some bolts are longer than others, didn't read the instructions ). So I took it back off and decided that it would be best to put it on some other time.

On a side note: Is it just me, or do those little blue braces not fit correctly on the trailor arms (or whatever it is called)?

Me for the past 2 hours ----->

I also had no problems at all with the Stillen bar. It went on like a dream. The Progress bar on the other hand was a huge PITA for me.

No issues here. In order to use the 3 and 5 holes, the blue brackets must be placed in between two bolts on the trailing arms. However, this poses another dilema. There is a small metal piece that holds the ABS line and it sticks out at a 90 degree angle. You will need to hammer that flush against the trailing arm to fit the blue brackets; then the ABS line will fit in the cut-out of the blue brackets; threads the bolts but don't tighten the them completely yet. If no one can lend a hand, what I did was place the floor jack in the center of the RSB and raised it level with the rear i-beam. Once it is level, I tightened the bolts completely. That was the way I installed mine on a 2k1. I've seen others place one blue bracket in front of the bolt closer to the engine and one in the middle of the two bolts. Hope this helps.

No problems here did mine myself with out using jack stands and just the regular jack. How I did it was started on one side taken off wheel. Put blue brackets on not tighten and put ABS spacer on. Put wheel back on moved over to other side. and repeated same steps. Put bar on and tightened all bolts and done. I used last and third hole like it said for the 2000 maxima. Definitly can tell the difference.

*Lifts up crippled left hand* "What if ya miss?"

Well then, glad to see that I suck at installing stuff.

Thanks for the replies. I swear that I am putting these brackets in the proper place though.

Thanks for the offer on the pics Irish......it's ok, GimmeTorq's link shows what I pretty much suspected. I'm in the right area, I just can't get her in there.............................that doesn't sound right.
