got rear ended today

i was making a left today and i slowed down started to make the turn and then BOOM!! some chick in a old prelude nails me at like 30 or 40 mph. My rear valence fell off and is all f*cked up bumper is destroyed and hanging as well as the muffler. the left quarter panel is also bent out to a point.. the wierdest thing is that the center console cover thing is bent to the side badly. ill post some pics when i go to the towing lot. im alrite thank god but my poor baby. if anyone can give me an idea of the cost of repair or is it totaled?

freakin sucks man, im sorry. the same exact thing happened to me, and i actually just got my car back today. my valence got a little bent, but they fixed it, i needed a new trunk, new rear bumper, tail light and some other ****, and i think the cost ended up coming out to 4000, around there. you got hit from the back, so im sure it will be 100% his fault. the worst part is waiting got the insurance **** to go through, once thats done, the body shop will get it all done in about a week. good luck

as long as you are not hurt. I say sue her for all the mods you have done to your car since your insurance probably won't cover it; unless you had them insured.

I got rear-ended this past winter too. Stupid kids in their 2002 Eclipse hit me as I was at a red. The hit was at around 15MPH, because it felt pretty hard. The damage? None. Bumper didn't show any signs of impact at all.

Glad to hear your ok. If you notice any *COUGH!* dizziness, pain, or *COUGH! back spasms *COUGH!!* you should definetly have it checked out.

And if you find yourself coughing after this accident, please have that checked out too.

rear wont mess up your feel of the ride, unless it messed up your whole frame..... again, good thing it wasnt the front... that would have sucked big time.

I got reared back in Jan and my lower back is still wacked out.
About $4K in damage for me as well.
No skiing this season, no MX, no golf, no lacrosee nad my lower back is always sore and feels like it needs to be popped.
Make sure you get her insurance to compensate you for future loss of value when you sell or trade-in due to the accident. This is a gray area but most insurance companies are doing this now.

$9K = not totaled.
You need to be about 70-80% of the value of the car in repairs to total it.
Soooo, if 03' SE's are going for $18-20K total range would be about $12.5-14K in damages.
It will be repaired.

this is an 01 SE which is only worth like 15g's and my insurance company usually totals the car at 68%, but totalled or not im not keeping the max...

bad news i have already been negotiating the price on a 2000 6-speed audi S4 with a local dealer.
