Hawk brakes installed.

I put hawk brakes in, but they sound very loud, squaking sounds all the time. May be the reason to the sound are rotors?

I heard that the hawks are garbage. GreekMaxima had them and took them off the same week.

I use the Hawk HP with brembo blanks.
It is louder than stock but well worth it.
Stay away from the HP+ unless you are autocrossing or road racing.

Stay away from the Raybestos QS pads also. I bought them because everyone regarded them as being of high quality and quiet. They are neither. Buy OEM pads from DAVEB. I bought QS's for the front and OEM's for the rear and the OEM's are quiet and smooth. The QS's squeal at times and droan every time I break.

I've used Hawk pads once and I will never use them again. If it's not too much trouble, replace them.

I went through my 2nd set of OEM pads- not the key value crap in 15K miles- I drive my car verry hard and road race it every once in a while. OEM pads where warping my stock rotors all the time. I switched to Hawk HPS from Tire Rack at around 53K miles and repleaced them again at around 72K miles along with some Akebono Ceramic pads on the rear with EBC Grooved and Dimpled rotors- from Tire Rack. EBC rotors took about 3 weeks to finally break in and they still don't stop as good as OEM rotors did. I get green fade after a few consecutive high speed stops, where my OEM rotors bit harder and harder the hotter they got. I love my HPS pads... read the instructions on how to break them in.

This post isn't going to help as there doesn't appear to be a clear winner here but I'll my data point. I use the Hawk HP+ with Stillen x-drilled. No problems other than dusting. When I changed the rotors I adhered to the Stillen guide which said to use new pads. The kit I bought included Axxis metal masters so I used those. I took them off about 3 weeks later because they made far too much noise. I put back the HP+ and its been fine so far (10k+ miles). I'd buy the Hawks again.

I have used Axxis metal masters if someone is interested (for a price).

I have Hawk pad with my powerslots. BIG MISTAKE!! The things squeaked from day 1 and they're carving up my rotors.

As soon as I have time I'll get the Raybestos pads. (Hopefully, my powerslots arent damaged as well.)

Total disaster!!

I'm assuming everyone here had properly bedded the pads before normal use, as Hawk requires.

I haven't tried the Hawks on my Max, but on the Supra they were awesome, as in you could feel the G forces tugging on your eye ***** if you jammed the brakes at 80mph. But the 12.7" f&r rotors might have helped a little...

I had the Hawk HP+ on the front (hps in rear cause they dont get hot enough to warrant HP+ pads) and they worked really well with Powerslots. I did a 60-0 stop stock was like 115, and after the new pads and rotors it was cut down to 88 ft. The downside was that they squeal like all hell unless you have them up to race temps and they NEVER stop grinding. They did no damage to the rotor, but Id not recommend them for street use.

I see, so squealing is normal... It explanes why after HIghway races they stoped making sounds.

Also, they dont have the loops that the stock pads have, so they wiggle a bit, and that also causes them to squeal.
