Koeppel Nissan is charging $21000 for a black AE in a stick. When I told the sales guy, "I can get a 2k2 for less than $18k." His response was, "Then go get it." What an a$$. FYI, if you want an automatic, they have a navy blue one there as well.

You can get a 2k2 for ~$14k with the same miles on it if you shop around and get it from a private party.

Not in NYC. Trust me. I spent the last 2 months looking until I found mine. Well, unless he's looking for an auto. I couldn't find a 6spd if my life depended on it. They're pretty hard to find in such a congested city. I looked in the 5 boroughs, LI, and NJ. Even when I found them, the prices were high because they were rare.

you can get a 2001 AE for 21,000 Canadian which is roughly 17,000 USD...so your pic.
You can always buy it from another state and get it transferred.

Just throwing this out here, and tell me if this is even worth it. I currently have a 2000 max SE, fully loaded everything, auto. I've always wanted a stick version of this, but at the time i was sharing the vehicle with my girl who can't drive stick if her life depended on it. Well 4 years later and 57000 mi, i want the stick really bad, and was thinking about the ae which i wanted so bad. Is this worth it. i know i'll be losing out approx. 5-6 grand between the both. i've seen many on autotrader.com from a lot of out of staters mainly in pa, ma, or even nj which is fine with me. the vehicles are in great condition (well from what the pic shows so far). Here are some of the info. all stick shift of course
2001 Silver 56040mi. $16995
2001 Silver 37000mi $15800
2001 White 50976 $17499
2001 White 44202 $18995
all of these are from out of state. My question is, i don't remember but is the ae edition 5sp or 6sp.
I was considering the 02's but in my area the hid theft is my main concern. so pretty much ruling the 02 and > out.
thanks in advance

6spd did not start until 2k2, so no.

an AE edition is not that important. You can get a fully loaded SE 5spd also. Just wait around and see what good deals come up

Damn, those prices are high, especially, for only an 01. Larrio is right, get a fully loaded SE and it'll be cheaper. Unless you really want LSD and the 5 extra hp.

That's expensive, considering that you can find a 5.5 gen auto for less than $14k here. Easy. Indeed probably because manuals are rare, I only could find 3 in 300mi from my area
All are '01 5spd Maxes, all private party:
$14,500 27k
$12,000 35k
$11,650 57k

Well i guess the 5hp don't mean much, but the body kit looks nice, and lsd would be nice, and the interior is a little different. I don't know, so much back and forth lately. Guess i could keep looking and just hope for a real good deal, don't know. thanks so much guys for the info.

Also depends on your perspective. I paid more for my AE because the AE package was important to me. Its what sets my car slightly apart from the thousands of other 01s on the road. So its just a question if it is worth it to you. I would have probably spent the difference on a body kit and other stuff anyway.

i agree. Some of the small things add up, despite the fact that the 3.5 6spd is a more appealing power package.

With the AE, you automatically get what others don't have:
VLSD, Perforated leather seats, clean body kit (IMO), tinted headlights, tinted rims, and other cosmetic goodies

you have all that atop of a fully loaded SE, which is what the AE essentially is

Looks like a great car, but kinda looking for something bone stock. Any mods i plan on putting on, will be personally done. (kinda gives me a feeling of accomplishment). but thanks for the offer, i'll pass on the good word.

Yesterday i had the pleasure of sitting in an ae, very very nice, i mean its not like a different car than what i have, but nevertheless a great car. Just wish the dealer who sold me mine, would've told me about the ae coming out about 4 months after i bought mine. Then again he might not be a good salesman then.
