Y-Pipe Trouble

Anyone else have to lengthen the front bank O2 using the Cattman on a Cali-spec?

It looks like it might fit if I pull it real tight across the bottom of the engine block, but that doesnt sound good to me at all.

What did you guys run into?

If you did lengthen it, did you just crimp in an extra length of small guage wire?

You are suppose to lengthen it, they suggest to soilder it...but a but splice, heatshrink, and a heatsheild will do the trick :-)
Also, someone posted a "how to" with the cattman Y pipe, check the how to's.

Thanks, I have spoken with people who said that they did not have to lengthen it so I thought maybe I was doing something wrong.

I have never had much luck with soldering... **** never seems to stay together. Ill just crimp them together, heat shrink the connection, and try to find some header wrap to put around the wires. Maybe I will use some wire loom too... I just like using that stuff Dont worry, I wont just twist the wires and tape them up

BTW, did any one have a nut sieze on the EM/front pre-cat connection? I sheared off one of the bolts when trying to loosen it up. I really hope I dont have a nasty exhaust leak after all of this. There are like 5 other bolts around that connection, and there may be just enough of the bolt left to get a nut on there if the threads arent screwed, so maybe I will get lucky. If not, I may as well get headers for all the work I will have to do to fix that
