Here's a couple pics......

Don't mind the yellow bulbs...they've been replaced with chrome coated ones.

well, I'm not in the know with what is ricey and what isn't, but I do know that I don't want to look like a rice racer...so I have to ask sometimes if I'm not 100% sure.

but I was looking at them again, and I noticed they aren't DOT approved...

well, it says "THIS SET OF TAIL LIGHTS IS ONLY FOR OFF ROAD OR SHOW PURPOSE ONLY", which means they're not DOT approved as far as I'm concerned, and the guy only has a 95% postive feedback rating...

I only buy from 98.5% and higher...

Pretty much nothing is DOT approved, however if you have the appropriate colored bulbs I think you'll be safe. I may be wrong but the only way something is DOT approved is if it goes through an official testing process, a company that makes lights like that isn't gonna mess around with that when they can just sell and not care bc most people will buy anyways.

As far as feedback goes, the guys got 9900 positive ratings, don't let the 95% feedback thing bother you cause I'm sure all will agree he seems credible....good luck man

Bluesbreker, your car is a beautiful.

I think the stock black-outed 5th Gen SE lights shown in the first picture look the best. It's not like they're ugly or even have yellow in them.

VQMan, consider what those e-bay lights will look like when they're lit - you'll have to buy red bulbs that will look really weak and pinkish when they're lit. Plus even when they're off, the red bulbs will still be visible and the lights will not look perfectly clear like they do in the e-bay picture. I think the stock SE lights are the way to go.

ive seen them on a light blue max before and i thought they looked pretty bad. i agree with the statement about finding a red blub that would not show off as a dark pink. if it was my money, i would not even consider it but its your ride and your money.

I think they look good. If you go that route, I think you will need to change the bulb colors.

Wish I could say thanks, but that's studman's Max. He's on the org too. I just happen to have seen his Max in person and frankly, the pics don't do the tails any justice. I like how they look better than the regular 00-01 SE ones on dark colors only. They look nice in combo with the clear markers and as long as you keep it simple on the outside, your Maxima won't look too ricey.

Now, on the other hand imo smoked SE tails look best on black, majestic blue and satin/tugsten blue. For all the rest, I'd get the stock 02-03 tails and just paint the bottom yellow half-circle red My two cents.

is studman's Max majestic blue or black?

to me, those tails make his ride look blue.

I will probably just keep my '03 tails, but if I were to change them, I would end up with the '00 - '01 SE tails..

His Max is majestic blue and just for the record, I would kill to have your '03 tails.... I don't understand why everyone wants to get rid of their stock 5.5 tails. I'll get them for my Max pretty soon

what id like to see done are those clears with the top part tinted red. it would be similar to the black SE tails, except the black would be on the inside of the housing instead of on the outside OE style. testor's candy apple red transparent spray? that would look good and could be a possible alternative to expensive OE black SE tails

as always, just my 0.02

Bluesbrekr I think that your Max looks really nice with those tail lights. What size and type wheels are on the car? From the angle they look almost like BBS.

I think that the guys with the completely clear lense is looking fro ticket trouble as I believe that the laws (at least in the North East state that you car must be equiped with lenses that reflect red in the rear of the car. Just my $0.02

Mr. Peabody, My rims are HP EVO Lightnings.
18 x 8 wrapped with Falken 512's, 245x40x18.

My dark tails are OEM 2001. I much prefer these to the stock 2K2 tails, especially on black or dark colored Maxes.

hmm lemme show ya why I put that on.... my collection of REAL SE-Rs...

That badge was put on my car durring the 02 SE-R national convention since I didn't have my SE-R no more. SE-Rs are Sentras 91-94 only. In order for it to be a SE-R it has to have a SR20DE in it, 2 doors, no luxuries, just pure sport. Something no Maxima or Altima can do.
