Idle Problem and Maybe MAF???

i got new spark plugs in the other day and now i noticed that after i let off the gas at a low speed the rpm's drop under 1000 and then will bounce back up above it...and when i was on the highway i was doing 70, i went to pass someone and the tachometer went to 4000+ but there was a delay when the power kicked in...i have an automatic and i was told i would know the tranny was slipping...and the car did not jolt of anything....but i was wondering if it is the MAF...SORRY for the long post.

make sure they were gapped properly. 0.44, how much torque did you apply when tightening?

they were completely properly installed to my knowledge...but is it the spark plug causing the rpms to dip up and down...and i do not feel any kind of problem when it happens...if i didnt look i would know it was occurring

if they were gapped improperly, it could cause that. so could improperly reinstalling a coil(s). make sure all of the coils are pushed down and locked with the bolt. check the clamps on the air intake to make sure they are not loose. what kind of plugs were used?

the car has 63,000 miles on it and they were changed at 62k and one of the old spark plugs looked like it had burnt a small bit of oil...and it was changed by my mechanic who has worked on all our cars for years so we trust them

o by the way i used NGK...and the only problem there was when the mechanic put them in is he said he bent a prong on the thing that plugs into the coil or something like that and one of the cylinders misfired but that was fixed and no check engine lights have gone on since that happened
