Or even if you don't have frost. When I bought my max, black leather was not avaiable and had over a month wait. I was anxious so I settled for frost. Now, I am thinking about jumping in on the deal with leatherseats.com to get my leather changed to dark charcoal or black or something different. My question is that I have been noticing all the stuff that is really frost colored on the interior - the carpet underneath the floor mats, the plastic around the seat, the middle console, the sunglas holder, etc. and was wondering if my car would look funny with black or dark leather for the seats, but the rest would obvously stay the same. I am really thinking about the following colors (it obviously wouln't have Honda on it, but this is basically the color scheme I am thinking about):

So, anyway - I would like your input so that I don't screw my car up too badly.

Also, for those who have done this or know someone who has done the install - how hard is it - they something about cleaning with gasoline - is that right?

I have a 2k Icelandic Pearl Max with black leather interior. I agree with you that the black leather looks better. IMO changing to black leather and leaving the rest of the interior as it is won't look quite right. Getting a two-tone interior where the second color matches the carpets etc. might work. Since you already have a leather interior, it just isn't worth the expense or effort.

I'm looking for a frost leather interior for my black on black GXE. I think it would look pretty sweet to have all the black trim with the frost leather seating surfaces and door inserts.

All I know is I will never buy another black car. It looks dirty one day after I wash it, shows every little scratch, and is hot as hell with the Maxima's weak *** AC. I was thinking that upgrading the seats to light colored leather would make the interior cooler.

Hey Daniel, I own a 2001 se 20 th with a frost interior, I like it very much ( really classy ), after my fist winter it is still in better condition than my previous max with black interior. I believe that color to be cooler in hot summer day, black leather interior in summer is very hot ( believe me I had one for 3 years ). You should go for it, you'll like it.

Cheers

If it were me, I would match at least part of the seat with the rest of the interior. Otherwise, it will look as if you just threw some new seats in there (eg you install all black seats). I think a two-tone would look good.

I think it would be easier if you had a dark interior and were going with not so dark seats, but that is not the issue here.

Where are the woman on the board? Can they offer some color-coordination tips?

Alright, I'm not an interior designer, but I am woman, so listen up... Black leather w/ a frost interior will def. not look good. Everything was designed to match when you bought the frost leather (i.e. carpet, console, doors, roof liner, plastics, etc)

Again, you should never compromise when buying a car. Buy what you truly want in the beginning, cuz you'll have no regrets later plus you won't have to waste money on unnecessary mods. Btw, I have frost interior and have been very happy with it...

I respectfully disagree with some of these responses...
My GLE has frost leather...black goes with everything...

If it means that much to you, go for it...

Personally, I would not spend the extra money, but that is a matter of opinion...you've got a great car, if you've got the extra dough-go for it...
