Is there such a thing as bumber exchanges? A number of years ago I had a problem with a bumper on another car and they swapped them and repainted the new one, effectively trading one for the other without having to pay full price for a new bumper. Does this exist anymore?

My .02 is buy whatever bodykit you were hoping for and get it all painted together at once.

That's one way to take the sting out of a dumb mistake like that....been there done that.

I had similar damage to my bumper also. Ijust got it repainted. My max is black and the job looks seamless. Make sure they use the proper primer and paint and it will be better than stock.

I saw aftermarket bumpers for $140, but not sure how good are they. I think just the repaint will do. Just curiosity can you tell me where did u get it done and aprox how $$?

Thanks for the feedback all!

Painting a bumper should be 300-400, and never over 500 unless you want custom colors and what not. And that includes a good thick layer of clear coat.

yeah, i don't see any damage to the actual structure of the bumper itself, just a repaint will do.

WHERE DID YOU GET THAT SPOILER? it's tight.

Hey Kiosk, sorry for that but... If your bumper is not mis-align just have it re-paint it should be all fine and cost around 150-200$ max.

Good luck

here is the all too well known, "that'll buff right out!"

if the bumper isn't loose or misaligned, just repaint. they will probably want to do half they bumper, hopefully the blacks will match...if they blend-in....

Yea, I bought the car with the tail already on it. I think its from an Infinti like it was mentioned but some have also told me it could be from ebay aftermarket. I actually didnt even realize it was any different till people here told me it was then i noticed.
And then today I get totally spanked by some Cadi CTS somethin, man that thing flew by me like if I was on neutral....mean looking Cadi too with manual tranny...wtf??
Well, going to get a quote tomorrow for the bumper paint job from a trusted shop...

Here is another pic with the spoiler before I smashed it...

doesn't seem like it fits just right. could be off a CL-S

if it were off the I35 then it ought to be a perfect fit...

THANK YOU! These huge sigs are getting old, and why do people need to attach them to every post?? Compensating for something???

Kiosk, let a body shop look at it and see if it just needs paint or actualy work.

i dont know if its just me but that spoiler looks like the normal maxima spoiler with the center support pillar missing...i've seen another maxima with the same spoiler...i guess theres an aftermarket spoiler like that? it looks too similar to be from another car though....just my thoughts...sorry bout the accident..i had an incident with the garage too...plus side = no paint damage, bad side = huge dent...bout the size of my hand. -.-;;

Talking on the cell while driving is an obvious distraction. You might as well be driving drunk. If you have to talk on the phone, make it quick.

The spoiler seems the same as stock except for the center pillar missing...looks nice though.

if ur gonna get a body kit, put that on and then paint it, it will be cheaper for you.

if not, repaint should be between 200 & 300.

Since your car is black, you can always put 2 cans of nite shades on it. $20 each can. + $5 clear coat

If you'd live in Jersey or NY cops don't like cellphones anymore...
here they can't pull you over for a cellphone unless you commit another traffic violation...

PS: Be Careful Next Time.....Get a New Bumper + a Lip.....

I was my understanding that it's $150 for having the phone to your ear....

Not for eating a stop AND running someone over, WHILE hold the phone to your ear???...

[EDIT] never mind...I googled it....seems stupid to me that NJ has this stipulated...
