'I Can See Clearly' done by the Holy Cole Trio. (Jazz). The guy playing the standup bass just plain old rox! I have to turn the bass down to 2 to not hear too much rattling.

It's the song in the new Chevy commercials where the father follows the school bus around.

I've been meaning to ask this too.

We are all obviously from different parts of the country/continent and thanks to that recent question about age, we probably have different tastes in music.

I'll take the question from a different angle... what songs make you want to break the sound barrier?

I've mentioned this one before under the "Bose Settings" post, but Rage Against the Machine's "Wake Up" is my current "get outta my way" song (especially about 3 minutes 15 seconds into the tune). I've also been known to pop White Zombie in as well as Metallica. Days of the New's "Downtown" is also a good tune to tear down the highway to.

For those long drives home (about an hour and a half commute at 80 mph avg speed), when I need to mellow, there's nothing like the soft, silky and sexy voice of Diana Krall's CD "Love Scenes". Man she's got one heck of a voice.

I've got a pretty limited (cough-dated-cough) view of the music scene as I'm in the office most of the time and am too impatient to listen to commercials on my commute to learn about other good, heart-pounding, drive-like-a-maniac music so I'm hoping you all can make some recommendations

This is the best song!

The Mission Impossible theme song from Limp Bizkit! I love to have this song on when I am at the drag strip! The first part of the song rocks...but when it gets to loud you have to turn it down just a tad!

"Downtown" is a great song, totally agree. If you like that, you'll love Nickelback. Listen to "One Last Run" by them, it's one of the best driving songs I've ever heard. Anything off Rage's first album gets the blood pumping (personal fav is "Know Your Enemy". The song that makes my rearview shake though, is "Fatboy Slim - Everybody Needs a 303". I use this to test my system in my apartment (2 3-way spkrs with 200W each, 10" woofers). It goes so low you'll feel the fillings in your teeth shake.

Anything I listen too...usually techno or trance. Chemical brothers work well. Rob Zombie also. And I don't even have Bose. Can only imagine what would happen if did.

Totally spaced on Lenny Kravitz. "5" is the only CD of his I own and like the 70's-ish feel to it (at least that's my interpretation).

Another good one I forgot to mention would be Depeche Mode's Ultra (couple of really good ones on there - can't recall their names except for "It's no good", "Uselink" and "Useless" (these last two kinda go together)). "Useless" guitar work reminds me a little of Dire Straights (a popular band in the '80's for all you whipper snappers up here ).

Pretty much any song in the Fight Club soundtrack is too much for my speakers/doors at any decent volume.

Just about anything...

...but it seems that techno has been hitting the hardest lately. I was listening to an oldies station yesterday (don't ask why, just flipping stations) and a few songs really dropped. How weird is that?

Let us not forget 'the' Maxima song, "Clubbed to Death" by Rob D. BTW, the song that were referring is "It's a Shame" I think. Its a completely different song without the bass.

I'm a big progressive trance fan...so, right now, I'd say disc 2, track 10 off of John Digweed's GU019:Los Angeles CD. The track is called "One" by Aria.

Let's see(in no certain order); Moby(don't know why), 8-Ball&MJG,UGK, Jill Scott and Eurithymics(Sweet Dreams)!
It helps to have two 12" MOMO Subs as well(ported through the rear deck where the factory 8" used to be)

Kashmir!!!

I get the "Led out" in my Maxima. Lately I've been rocking with Led Zeppelin remasters, and Stevie Ray Vaugh greatest hits. Gee, I feel like an old timer now.

25 and I do professional installs......the 1812 puts any speaker 2 the test, even the $10,000 ones. I did say that I don't cruise around listening to that though. What do I normally listen to? Rap, reggae, hip-hop, r&b, rock, only rock seems to sound good though. Everything else stresses the sub. Oh well, it's good 4 a stock unit. How old are u?

Bumping Beats

I would vote "Going to Fast" by Methods of Mayhem, or the good ol' "Whoomp there it is!" by TAg Team.

At the risk of repeating myself from my post in "Bose Settings" thread, the "Music From the Matrix" CD has three accelerator-mashing tunes:

"Clubbed to Death (Kurayamino Mix)" - Rob D. (from the scene with the blonde in the red dress) - Track 4

"Spybreak! (short one)" - Propellerheads (from the lobby shoot-out scene) - Track 2

"Wake Up" - Rage Against the Machine (from the end credits) - Track 13

Gotta read the label, though. There's this CD and then there's the CD which is the Original Music from The Matrix Score (or something like that) which has more of the instrumentals.

BTW - Was that movie kick-@ss, or what? Can't wait for parts 2 and 3 (but that would be off topic now, wouldn't it )?
