newbie here--have ? on springs.

What's up everyone. I just bought an '02 with 20k miles on it and I'm loving it so far. This is my first post here and I have a question on springs. I have tried the search and it won't work for me for some reason. I have read back quite a few posts and have gathered a ton of useful info but not specifically what I was looking for. I'm ready to start trying to get the most out of it, Ive already ordered a frankencar intake/apexi filter and an exhaust and springs are next. I would like a performance drop and my question is what's the most I can drop it and still be able to clear speed bumps and such. After the springs I'm going to get 19's with a 35 or 40 tire (not sure if that matters, just thought I'd pass it on in case it does). I just want a lower CG, NOT the rice look.

What would be the next step after springs and exhaust?
I'm open for suggestions on a good dual tip exhaust(not interested in sound--just performance).

Sorry for the long post everyone, but I'm really excited about building this thing up.

Thanks, Gary

i'd go with headers or y-pipe after the exhaust. depending on budget.

Thanks for the help guys. That website is awesome--has a ton of good info. I'm thinking either the H&R's or the progress' would be right for me. I've read a lot of posts about headers and pipes but could you tell me what the difference is between the y and b pipes and are both legal in california.
