cd player problem

Has anyone had any problems with their 6 disc cd changer in there 2002 SE? I continually receive a CD ERR F3 even on store bought cd's not just cd-r's? Any suggestions? There was a recall on the cd players right?

another CD prob

weird...
2002 SE: I don't have a BOSE CD player or changer just a stock CD headunit. But this past weekend it won't accept another CD - plays as if it is installed then gives that F3 error. I can't force the disk in either. This is for CDR's and store CD's. I will search out for a recall. Just wondering if I will need to just buy a new head unit...

thanks -

I have a 2000 GLE with a Bose/Nissan factory install. It is only a single disc player, but my cd player failed as well. Nissan pulled it out and the probelm was a short in the power supply. Not sure how it happened, but it did. I am not aware of any recalls.

--Yes radio still worked, but they had to pull both radio and cd for the repair. Went over 4 weeks without a radio or cd player!! My cd player failed with a cd in it, it was unable to eject and/or play, just got the Error msg.

--Not sure about the 6 disc cycling then powering off. Do those 6 packs have a reset switch? Maybe pull the battery lead for a minute reset the unit.

There are no recalls for our head units, i had the same when i started playing Cd-r's, CDR-W's in my CD player as well. The F3 error code would come up everytime i would put anytype of CD in to the headunit. You have to have Nissan service it for you, i was quoted 189.00 to fix it, i opted to buy an aftermarket headunit instead for a few bucks more. Your choice though.....

There is no reset button, tried myself. The nissan tech told me that the CD player malfunctions when you play CDR,CDR-W disc. Plain and simple: The stock radio was not intended to play burned Cd's. No reset button , only fix, have Nissan or another repuatble outside source fix it for you, buy another stock radio, or go aftermarket like so many other Maxima owners have.

Once again, no stock CD, Cd changer will play burned Cd's. i am sorry for the bad news, but thats just that way it is...You can call your local Nissan dealer, or in your case your Infiniti dealer if you don't believe me.

I had the same conversation with Nissan - there was no problem for 2 1/2 years playing CD-R's in there. I didn't have stickers on them. Probably best to go aftermarket. Glad its not just me. Strange this all just happened..............

I play burned cd's all the time. It was a store bought cd that got stuck in my stock player. I even used a micrometer to measure the thickeness between a cd-r and a store bought cd...near identical in thickness. My owners manual does not say to not use burned cd's. Maybe it was just time for your 6 disc player to fail. Im sure you can fine another player out there if yours cant be fixed.
