2nd try at custom ebrake boot

decided I really didn't like the first on (too big, looked like a ***** apparently, etc...), also since it was so big my redline ebrake boot woudn't fit over it far enough. So I made another one, tapered to the back end. It is so perfect fitting you don't have to glue it, velcro it or anything and it doesn't move AT ALL, but you can still get it off if you really give it a hard pull with both hands. Anyhow, here it is....wrapped in 2 layers of vinyl so it's not rock-hard either, and the boot comes up over it as you can see:

looks that way in the picture, but it's real easy to push the button....obviously if there's a cover over the handle the button won't stick out as far.....button "extension" ? Actually, I really don't like the button sticking way out like it is stock...

man, you're just jealous because your ebrake handle was

haha just kidding man...if I could figure out a way to put a brushed aluminum "button cover/extender" over the OEM button or something that might look good - but no idea where the hell I'd find something like that.

At this point I've spent way too much time fabricating a stupid ebrake handle and my wife's about to kill me so it's staying as-is until something better comes along. Either way, at least got to practice my fiberglassing and sewing skills by doing it.

I like what youve done seriously, but if you put an aluminium button extender/cover it would luck much better. You are really racking up on the mods BTW.

I was gonna say racking up the home depot mods, but I dont think where you got it is relevant compared to how well they all look. What request for you is to get one of those free sites with like 500 megs and unlimited bandwidth and just make a site with your car and a whole bunch of How-tos.

oh and Josh, if you ever get something going on those Volvo gauges, for all 5th gens, it would be cool to have an option for the guys with an ecu and higher redline. Just my 02 cents.

Yeah i had photoshopped those blue gauges and posted what they looked like in Red also (looked pretty sweet too)...but doesn't seem like anyone was able to find a place that could make them look like that....the closest one was a place that kind of put a blue glitter inlay which I thought didn't look all that good....

I really need to clean some pics off that page...i think I have like 200 pics loaded on there...

I think the guy who printed the guages said that the the lighting wasnt all that great.. its just printed paper.. Now if we could get clear plastic guages, and print those guages on there with only the numbers still clear, there would be better lighting... something like that.

That actually would not be too hard seeing as though we could take a transperency and print the negative onto it. That way the numbers would be clear and everything else would be either black or red. Just an idea...
