Your statistician reporting on the final age stats.
This is a little beyond jashick's tally.

72 submitted ages.
ave 30.4
range 16 to 64
0 to 19, 12
20 to 29, 31
30 to 39 17
40 to 49 7
50 to 59 4 (I'm one of them. The youngest of this foursome)
60 to 69 1
70 and over 0

I don't think MaxinMD submitted an age.

Congratulation

Martinf, congratulations on your age statistics, I think is was cool, Im 52 and always a car freak. I have being racing in Drag Racing since 1964 back from the Muscle Car era. I live in Puerto Rico down at the Caribbean. Its a small Island but in square mile its one of the hotest exotic cars area in America. I actualy own a Y2K Max Sherwood Green Auto Trans. with Stillen YPipe, HKS drop filter,Valve Body rework, Hayden Trans Cooler. Best ET 15.65 in hot weather.

Tested but did not work: Cold Air Intake, Stillen HiFlow filter, Random Hi Flow Catalitic, Stillen Muffler, and Eibach Springs. As you can see spend lots of $$$ down the drain.
Bottom Line this cars are nice grocery getters but any way I think I like them, regards!

yes I did! I'm 25. I guess that should bring the avg. to an even 30.

Age

Hey, that's pretty fascinating! I didn't respond to your poll about age, but you can add one more in the 50 to 59 bracket. What I find fascinating is the majority of Maxima owners seem to be in the 20 to 29 group. I had thought the Maxima was something of an "old man's car", so I'm surprised to see the highest percentage of owners are in the age group of two of my three children! The oldest has just turned 30, and he was surprised I bought a Maxima. Possibly that's because my previous car was a '93 RX-7! I'll be perfectly honest and admit it; I bought a Maxima because I couldn't afford an M5! Having said that, I hasten to add that I love the car, and think it has real potential to truly be a "four door sports car". It wasn't when I bought it. The center console interfered with shifting, and the gas pedal was too far away from the brake pedal for proper heel-and-toe shifting. I fixed those two minor problems. The suspension is next. It's fine at low speeds, but at triple digit speeds it floats entirely too much. My first "mod" was 17" wheels and tires. Unfortunately, my tires are already worn out at just under 17,000 miles (with only one track session)! That's a reflection not of the quality of the tires, but of my driving style (the corners are the fun part- every car handles great on a straight-away). From time to time, I'll add my "two cents worth" when I see something interesting. I'm one of the guys who "doesn't like" spoilers. I'm planning to attend this Maxus 2001 thing, and hope to see someone there with a supercharger!

Re: Age

Just remember this survey is not indicative of the average of all maxima owners, just the ones on this board. The overall average age may very well be much higher, it is just that older crowd isn't as internet savy as the younger crowd, so they haven't found this board.

Re: Re: Age

Good point! I'd guess too that the figure quoted in a recent Car $ Driver that only 3% of Maximas were sold with
5 speed transmissions is not representative of this board either.
