I just realized that I have never changed my windshield wipers. What is the correct size for a replacement? Which brand do you guys use? PIAA seem really expensive for wipers are they as good as they say? It never rains but sometimes I use them to clean my windshield.

 

Each brand is a little different, as I got the biggest ones that would fit. I think they are 1" bigger than stock. I know the right and left are different but can't find what size. Lots of people like the PIAA, I just use a good quality one like bosch and replace often.

 

Well i've had a few different kinds u get from wal-mart and all the auto stores. But the Piaa's are the best ones i've used so far and they have lasted a very long time so far.

 

nissan gave me two wiper blades for 19.80 + tax

try the dealership...good oem stuff

 

you can get PIAA replacement blades and they're a direct replacement... perfect fit in your OEM wipers.

that's what I did, and the PIAA silicon works very nice. Friends have even commented 'what did you put on your windshield?' because they want theirs to do the same thing.

replacements are only about $7 and $9 for the short and long blades.

26 and 17 inches are the correct size. i just ordered some PIAA from autobarn and you just need the refills. cost me $22.

 

I'm gonna get the PIAA's when the time comes to replace. Been runnin' on stock blades for 2yrs now, and they still work great. It rains alot here, but I don't usually use wipers...just drive faster haha..

 

I bought PIAA ones. I love them. It comes with a chemical swab pad that you put on your windshield. Water just beeds off its hard to explain but there IS a difference. I use them all the time her in FL. Worth the price for me.

 

go to the local auto store. Buy Bosch....I have not replaced my bosch wipers since the beginning of last winter and they're still fine. Why would you want to pay twice as much for PIAA wipers, just because they're PIAA??? A wiper's a wiper.....

 

I used to think that, too, then I bought PIAA replacement refills, which are cheaper than new Bosch whole blade setup. They really do work better than non-silicone blades.

 

I bought Bosch about a year ago and havent had to replace them yet, they work pretty good to me. just my .o2

considering my current blades wipe all the water off the windshield and don't streak, and don't make any noise - I'm not sure how exactly the PIAAs could work "better"....maybe "just as good" but not "better"

 

because they also wipe all the water off, they also dont' streak, and they also dont' make noise. in fact, when it's dry, MOST wipers do that skip thing, which is annoying, not sure if the bosche do or don't, but the piaa's don't.
and yeah, the bosche are like 9-12 each, where as the piaa refills, which can be swapped, are 6 and 9 dollars.

no streaking, no chatter, almost a rain-x kind of coating, they've last 2 years through 2 bad new england winters with no sign of slowing down, they were less expensive, I get to keep my OEM metal wipers...

just to clarify, the PIAA REFILLS are direct replacements for the OEM wiper arm? meaning...i dont need to do anything else except take out the old blades and put the PIAA replacements in? no extra parts to buy or compatibility issues? 17" and 26", correct? thanks

 

hey not bashing PIAA I'm sure they work as advertised. All I'm saying is that the Bosch ones work fine, never had any complaints......eh, I don't have the OEM wipers around anymore anyhow.....

 

well, some people are confused as to what this "refill" is. you don't get any metal. you get the actual rubber and nothing more. Slide it off the OEM, and then slide it back on. you don't even get the metal back piece. SO, in actuality, you may prolly still be able to swap, given the rubber is mounted the same way.

i know your'e not bashing, but just stating how yes, they are pretty much the same, but piaa wins where it's simply cheaper =)

 

what i want to know is, will the PIAA refill definitely fit into my OEM wiper arm. thanks

the site owner saw my refill order and emailed me "they won't fit just any wiper" but he was wrong... they fit perfectly in our OEM wiper.

$6 and $8... I think I found a site that had $7 and $9 but free shipping so it was $16 total for both.
