I brought my wife an 03 Jetta 1.8T and the thing flies. I also got her a cold air intake and had a chip put in. Upgraded the Blow Off Valve and well that thing moves. The 1.8T is actually faster then the VR6 VW's as theres so much more you can do to them!!

Older VR6s are completly diff animals vs new VR6s. Chip, Intake, better blow off valves, turbo back exhaust, K04 turbo with dual intercoolers off the 225HP Audi TT and you have close to 300 crank HP for pretty cheap- around 3K bux if you shop wisely. Too bad their trannies fall apart even on stock engines if driven too hard. Engines are laggy, and have ZERO throttle response due to the "great" drive by wire technology. Boost a VR6 and see what that thing can do.

Sorry to hear that man. But you still got a nicer car. Hopefully you will be able to mod it for more HP/Torque.

A friend of mine has a gti 1.8 turbo, most of the bolt ons, chip, downpipe, bov, everything. He made it a 13 second car, stock turbo.

The chip does a whole lot in that car. Stock though we can rip them a new one. That golf must of had some nice mods.
