MaxxTuning front lip question

I just got my maxx tuning front lip. I was wondering what was the best way to secure it to the front bumper. I was thinking something like 3m adhesive, but I would like to know what people who have the lip used to secure it.

double sided tape will somewhat hold it, but the best way to hold it secure is to also add 2 screws on each side, by the inside fender wall. it's how i have mine, and if you want to gain access to your fogs, removing the lip is the only successfull method.

Well, I asked because I don't know what correctly is. I guess I will do what polo said as that makes sence and seems easy enough. How big were the screws that you used?

Yeah, everyone uses double sided tape, and it's a good idea to use some rivets or screws

thy don't have to be that long at all. stupid a$$ 1" screws. the flimsy ones. it's just goin through 2 layers of material, the lip and the bumper.

remeber you have to push the lip on, it doesn't just go on, so it does essentially hook on. once the screws go on, there is no way the lip is coming out (parts of the lip go into the fog housing, etc...
now, the tape is just to keep it somewhat secure and as added support.

those 2 things and you should be more than fine. again, you dont' want it set permanently (molding, super adhesive) because the only way to remove the fogs is to first remove the lip.

Lol, sounds good. I have to have my rear bumber painted because there are some dings and scratches in it from the previous owners. The guy said for the bumper and moldings to be done it would be about $350, but the moldings are fine, so I'm guessing its going to be about $400 for the bumper and lip. I drove around with it on before, unpainted and unsecured. It looked awesome, I can't wait until its painted and I put it on for real.

the stillen lip fit pretty snug on the bumper, but i used one screw on each side of the lip by the wheel well. then used 3m on both sides of the lower air dam to secure it.

depending on how muchyou're willing to drive to queens, i may have a better deal for you. in the past few months i've started going to this bodyshop that i got referred to via a small hookup. since then, they've fixed/painted my car, friends durango, moms crv, and another friends scion xa. next week he's taking care of my cousins accord. in all cases, everyones jaw dropped at how perfect the work was. i personally don't really worry too much about cost. my main concern is quality. and they pushed envelope, cause it came out beautiful. they're in flushing, about 15 minutes away from both the whitestone and triboro bridge.

i am lucky enough to be walking distance to the shop from my job, so i walked by every afternoon. i dropped it off monday morning, went to work. tuesday after work i swung by and it was sitting there waiting for me. he said he had finished it a little after lunch. so slightly over a day. by monday afternoon, the first time i had walked by, he had already done the work. i'm guessing he painted it tuesday first thing, let it sit, and then washed her and let her rest the rest of the day.

The body kit is the only thing I would let anyone else do on my car. I left it up to them...3m tape and 4 screws did the job. I'd say for the $150 you pay to have it painted and installed its well worth having someone else do it.

Your post count does not go up if you repost in the same thread does it?

But what does that have to do with the thread? He already has the MT lip.

I like the MaxxTuning one better, just has more to it. The stillen one is barely noticable.
