Has Anybody Had This Problem

I have a 2002se with 41,000 miles and the trasmission is slipping from second to third. Has anybody else had this problem and if so, how did you go about getting it fixed? I got the 30,000 mile service done. Would the fact that I didn't get my transmisson flushed cause it to slip? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've got a 2kSE with about 73k on it and am experiencing a slip between 1st and 2nd when applying 1/2 throttle, but only after a 6-8 hour of no use, and if there is no warm up. I know nissan is going to take it for a spin and say nothing is wrong. I'm planning on telling them how to replicate the issue, but I don't trust them to do it properly. I'm sure I'll have to fight to have this properly diagnosed and fixed.

i actually had to have a tranny replaced because it blew up, nissan in all honesty doesnt make a good sporty automatic transmission. also in respect to the 30k service with the trans flush, if your clutches were worn to the point that there was nearly no friction material on them before they did the flush, yes there is a chance that this service may have harmed it. when the clutches are so worn, the only friction material left is what is still in the trans fluid floating around as particles, when you flush the old trans fluid out then you are losing the only friction material you have left. there have been several accounts where transmission specialist will tell the customer that they refuse to do just a flush because of the fact that the trans may stop working when performed, or not work to its peak for that matter.

also, the 2-3 third shift in the maximas isnt all the powerful anyways.

you may want to make sure that it isnt a flare up instead of slippage because these are two things that can be mistaken for the same thing, but a flare up is caused more than likely by a bad seal in a piston or a defect in the valve body.

You should still be within your powertrain warranty with only 41k miles. Take it in and have them attempt to isolate the trouble. I also had slipping between 1st and 2nd gear (auto) and they replaced a silenoid in the transmission and it cured it completely. Do yourself a favor...make an appointment.
