Upgrade on Stock Stereo

I have a base model 2K GXE. It has the stock cassette 4 speaker Stereo. I wanted to upgrade stereo and add some speakers but there is only one cut out in the back for a speaker. Any suggestions on how I can boost the sound or where I can add speakers in the back?
cheese rig job?
hmmm,
i have the same issue
i've thought about building (out of wood) an adapter piece to allow a single 8 or 10" to fit in and then running it from a bridged amp. i don't know much about the stuff, but figure that any way to take advantage of the trunk space as an enclosure ought to be better than the doors.
then i don't have to worry about low-end response from whatever goes in the door openings. (maybe just leave em alone and put surface mounted tweeters on the rear deck?)
i don't have one yet and havn't measured in there yet, but wonder if a rstb might get in the way of such a rig. i'll wait on the audio until after the brace since it (the audio) has to be custom fitted anyway.

U guys trying to add a sub in the rear deck or 2 speakers? I would say go with OEM components in the rear door and front door and get rid of that factory Tweeter in the A Piller. if U want a tweeter that would fit the factory A piller hole then Polk Audio and Boston Acoustics make one that small. I had a Pioneer setup in my car when I had a system. Pioneer Components up front, with the tweeter in the plastic triangle in the front door, rear setup I had the tweeters mounted on the back plastic panal next to the rear window faceing down, for subs I was using 2 Pioneer 12z in the trunk, and Amp was a SoundStream 405 under the passanger seat. radio is my Trusty PIONEER FH-P85 has everything I need except a TV Monitor and Microwave. U can cut holes on the rear deck for 8 or 10inch subs. the depth on subs are around 4.5 to 5inches so it shouldn't come in the way of the RSB. but B4 U cut make sure U check. I'm not gonna be responsible if U cut and it rubs the RSB.
.. Good Luck both of U Guys.

aftermarket system
I had the se premium system which sounds like a duck farting, so I replaced the front speakers with focal kevlar component speakers (the tweeters do fit in the front enclosure) and put focal coax speakers in the rear doors. 240 watt eclipse amp under the passenger seat and 1 12" eclipse sub in the trunk. Be careful what you put in the trunk or in the rear deck, cause even after stuffing a whole lot of foam under the rear deck and covering the trunk lid with dynamat, I still get rattling. I have yet to replace the receiver because no one has released a decent adapter kit for normal sized cd players yet. Unless anyone knows of one.....?
As has been mentioned before, there are adapters out there already. PIONEER has found that the GXE assembly works real well too. I have the americanindustries kit. It is the one on the left below. The one on the right has just been modded to accomadate 2 1 DIN pieces.
