Brakes!

I bought my car used last november and since then put on 16k miles. It had new brakes and tires but the brakes are already going. The rears are looking fine but the fronts aren't. This morning I just found some scratches on the driver side, front. I was wondering what I should do. Should I take it to the dealer or take it to a place like Procare? I need my car but I need this job done too. If i'm lucky I might just need new pads, I hope I don't need new rotors or get them resurfaced.

If the rotors are scratched or ridged, you'll need to at least have them turned. It's a shame you don't want to try this job yourself, because you can save a ton of money doing it.

I have no garage, not many tools, no jack stands. It just wouldn't work.

I know what resurfacing is, but what's "turning"? How would one go about doing it themselves?
