Hi Everyone,

First, I'd like to thank all of you for expressing such an overwhelming interest in our products.

I thought I would post here and update you all at once rather than continue to answer all of the individual e-mails we have been receiving on this subject. Due to the number of individual requests we have received for this part we are proceeding with a preliminary prototyping session for the Maxima. This session will give us a better idea of what we are dealing with in terms of design/manufacturing issues as well as an estimate of how long the part will take to develop.

As soon as I have any news concerning the design and prototyping I'll update everyone here.

Thanks again for your e-mails.

Thanks for the update, Karel! You have a very anxious pool of potential customers here (through Cattman Performance, of course ), so please keep us informed.

Also, if you need anything from us Maxima owners, please let us know - I'm sure that we can provide you with anything you may need in terms of parts, answers, test cars, etc...

spec-v's don't have the collar around the shifter to keep from hitting Reverse by accident when going for 6th gear. i think that's what the hang up is.

awesome!!!!! if it goes through .... so many people will buy those, me included.... just wondering, in response to the post about spec v's....what if we just remove the reverse blocker.....i think its kinda hard to miss 6th and put it in reverse....even if you try, it wont let you.. so..

but hey hope everything goes smooth!!!!

my friend has a spec v and he says that he's accidentally hit reverse when going for 6th a few times, mostly when he first got the car. it won't go into Reverse but it'll grind. when i go for 6th i just put the shifter to the far right and then down. if a spec-v owner did the same, he'd hit Reverse.

btw, i said i think that's what the hang up is. i could be wrong

.................................................. ........................

Hello. I sent you an email on 9/1/04 regarding short throw shfters for the 2k2-2k3 Maxima. I wanted to check back in for an update on the prototyping and production schedule. I'm sure you have received a ton of emails from the guys and gals as there is a sizeable thread on Maxima.org about you guys creating one. Here is the link if you care to have a look. Thank you very much for your time. http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....3&page=1&pp=30

Got a new response

Here's the email I received today from TWM....might be promising if it's "next on the list".......

Thanks for your e-mail. Sorry for the delayed response, we've been very busy with car shows lately.

We will be making a shifter for the Maxima however at this point we can't pinpoint a date when it will be available. At this point it is the next product on our list for development though.

Thanks,

Not to burst anyones bubble, but the SE-R shifter is only $50. if it works, i doubt anyone will buy anything else..nothing beats OEM stuff

Update as well:

Hi Roy,

Thanks very much for your e-mail. We'll definitely be developing the Maxima shifter however we have experience some delays due to internal changes in the company. At this time I can only tell you that it will be made, but not, regrettably, when.

Thanks,

TWM Performance
