5.5 Gen Short Throw Shifter lead - NEED YOUR HELP
Hey guys (and gals),
Those of you with a 2002/2003 6-speed know that there currently isn't any short throw shifter available for our cars.
There's been lots of rumours like, "it's in development" or "i heard that **insert company name here** is developing one", but there has been NO OFFICIAL word that any of these rumours are true. I myself have contacted B&M, JWT and Stillen, all of which say that they have nothing, and aren't currently developing anything, for the 2002/2003 Max.
Well, in contacting Brian (Catts, of Cattman Performance) to see if he had one in the works, he told me that he's been trying to get an STS developed for the 2002/2003 Maxima by this company: TWM - http://www.twmperformance.com/ as well as getting this company's height adjustable stainless steel shift **** made for our cars (this thing looks t1ts!)
I told Brian that I would reiterate the desire to see an STS developed by emailing the company myself.
So in short (too late
), Brian gave me the person's contact information and said to go for it. I've already emailed this guy, but I need everyone who's interested in this, to email him about getting an STS developed also.
Since Cattman Performance would be the one to retail this part when (if?) it's developed, please reference Brian and Cattman Performance, in your correspondance, as being the driving force behind this "Make an STS for the 2002/2003 Maxima" campaign.
I've included a copy of the email I sent to Kevin at TWM Performance - kwegert@twmperformance.com
Please feel free to cut 'n' paste it if you want, or draft up your own, but we need to let this company know that we need that STS!!
Thanks everyone! From me and, I'm sure, Brian @ Cattman Performance.

Hi Kevin,
I was given your company and contact information by Brian Catts of Cattman Performance. I originally contacted Brian in the hopes that he had a short throw shifter available for my 2002 Maxima, since he's one of the leading suppliers of performance Maxima products.
He let me know that he was in communication with you, and your company, about the possibility of getting an STS developed for the 2002/2003 Maxima, but as of right now there were no STS's - from any company - available.
I would like to add my desire to see you develop a STS for the 2002/2003 Maximas, as well as your trick, height adjustable shift ****.
I have been in contact with a few companies about the availability of an STS - Stillen, Jim Wolf Tech, B&M and Cattman Performance to name a few, and it seems that no one has an STS for these years of Maximas.
I am a very active member of a Maxima enthusiast website, http://forums.maxima.org , and the desire to have an STS for these years of Maximas is very great amoung '02 & '03 owners.
The first company to market an STS for these years of Maximas will be sure to have a lot of anxious buyers.
Thanks for your time.
Roy

Yeah he's the one that i was saying was in possible development. I did not want to give away his name and have him get tons of emails and phone calls asking about it. But yeah its going to be great.

I already received a response message to my e-mail, here it is:
Hi,
Thanks very much for your interest in our products. We have received an overwhelming number of requests for the Maxima shifter over the past week. Consequently, we are looking at the possibility of bumping it up in our production schedule. Currently the prototyping phase has not yet begun, however, due to the high demand we will do our best to cater to you needs.
Thanks and feel free to check back shortly for an update.
