Is the dremeling of the cleared turning signal hard to do? i dont really trust myself cuz ive never used one before, so should i put it in the hands of a pro, or an experienced person? or go ahead and try it myself

 

i thought that piece just pops out... ur talkin bout the orange hid piece right?

 

I'm assuming you're talking about cutting a Malibu lens to the correct size. After tracing the outline with the orange lens I made sure I was cutting a bit outside the line. Secure the clear lens as best you can before cutting and take your time.

 

I'm actually in the process of clearing mine out (i'm waiting for DDE's to come in --- in order to finish). I dremeled them last night, but I 'm a dermal *****. I love to cut anything i can . anyhow, i'm w/ Bluesbrekr. however, instead of securing the lenses i secure my dermal in table-mount vice. (someone give me the technical term for that thing)... then i traced out my cutting area, and dremaled away.

Speaking of which, if you haven't already bought your Malibu’s i got an extra pair due to a mistake made by my electric company when i ordered them. i was about to post them for sell on the ORG. if you're interested, i can sell that extra pair to you already dremaled ... just send me an email and I’ll let yah know a price... ...

 

i screwed up mine, cause i was rushing. 00maxse did them in front of me, took his time and they came out great!!!! so trace them well. then take your time cutting and sanding them, wear eye protective gear.

 

I screwed up mine the first time i did it too because of going too fast, good thing the Malibu lights are only like 10 bucks. I went and got another pair and cut them slower and took my time and they came out perfect. Def wear some eye protection, plastic in the eye isnt cool

 

Yeah, what dba1999us said. I did it and it was the first time I ever layed my hands on a Dremel. TAKE YOUR TIME. Trace the orange piece to get the general size down and then cut the clear piece a little bigger than you need. Take the sanding attachment and sand it evenly around the edges, checking for fitment as you go.

Definately wear safety glasses. When I did it, I was wearing them, but still got a little plastic dust in my eye.
