Im repainting the hood...24 layers...nissan paint is crap

 

24 layers of what? Laquer? Sorry it's just as chippable as factory Nissan paint. Maybe your gonna have it cleared in enamel? Why use laquer in the first place?

 

Get the ClearMask so it won't happen again!!!!!

 

im repainting it...i dont know what they did but the place where i got my stillen kit done...they did an amazing job...had it for half the time I had my max and it didnt have ONE rock chip on it(bumper is another story)...and I expected it to have more than my hood since its lower to the ground

 

My bumper has a few lil' knicks in it, but I had my hood repainted last year and it hasn't chipped yet neither has my Stillen kit, the same guy painetd both. I gues i will let him paint my bumber again! Mo money mo problems.

 

Hay, i here all ur problems with paint chip problems with the max but go here to continue this thread cuz we are tryen to get nissan to do something about it....

I had my hood repainted as well, but chips still occur....Swirls of scratches still appears......

Maybe something wrong with the metal?

 

swirls happen when u dry or u wax ur car. Small particles are rubbed against ur clear coat and that will leave swirl marks...it is moer visible in dark color cars. and some car polish is able to take care of it (Maguier #7)

for minor sratches, chips...u can bring ur car to a detail shop and they can take care of those.....or do a Teflon coating when ur car is still new with thick layers or clear coat.....about 300 dollars...

basically, anything light damage to the clear coat can be fixed....worst case is when it went straight to the base coat...then a repaint is required......

first sratch, chip, dent, ding is always hard....

 

speaking of dent...i have the biggest dent in my roof...looks like some ***** made a fist and hammered it when i was at the mall...i hate these kind of people
