Another Maxima noise

Has anyone else experienced a knock when you shut the driver's side door eminating from the rear panel by the trunk? It seems I always hear some bump when I get out and shut the door. Always in the same place-driver's side rear panel. And no it isn't from slamming the door shut.

Wierd. Dumb question but since the fuel door and trunk release are on your drivers door have you confirmed they are not opening (hey have to ask.)

The only noise I ever got when closing my door was from a loose screw. You have the upper and lower hinges and in between those you have a thin piece of metal that is connected to the body and runs into the door. The screw (10mm) that mounted that thin piece of metal/arm was loose and cause a clunking sound everytime I shut the door.

Sorry I couln't help you more, free bump.

In my 96 Max the jack is on the passenger side but I have never looked in the trunk of my 2k2 Max. Might be worth a look. Also is the sound only when you close your door or can you wait a little while?

It's great. Cheap living and if you want full exhaust there are no inspections so your car will be perfectly legal (you can get a ticket for a loud exhaust.) I bought a big house and am moving in next week, I'm about to start packing. I am on the north side of the city close to edmond.

Hit me up when you visit your Dad sometime.

The sound is immediately when I the door hits the frame. The jack is on the passenger on the 2k2. I have peeled back the trunk carpet but haven't spent much more time on it than that.

It was only a couple of years ago when they had inspections then the people of OK rose up and voted against any further inspections. Smart people! Anyway, yeah I might drop you a line before I head down there. Always nice to check out another ride.
