I spotted a rust spot on the rear passenger door of my Maxima as I was waiting to get the y-pipe installed. My car was manufactured around August of 1999. I only have 30k miles of Michigan driving (and weather) on it. The rust is actually starting to bubble the paint in a small area. Secondly, I noticed rust stains coming from both front doors at the gap above and slightly behind the side mirrors in the plastic chrome molding that is around the window.

I will be going into the dealer next week to raise holy Sh!# that an 18 month old car has rust showing!

Your comments are welcome (please note that I will be away from my computer for the weekend).

You might fare better if you say that it's an 8-month old car.

I have rust mine too, built dec 16 1999. (Not a Friday!)

Spring is not completely here yet and I have not done my first wash. Wether I wash it myself or get it washed (hand) I always go over the car.

Here is the rundown:

- driver door, top part at the back of the door. (the place you look at just before opening the door.

- Roof line, passenger side, 1 inch off the windsheild. NOT from a chip.

- Trunk contact with the bumper (TSB)

- it looks like there is rust coming out from seams of both front door chrome trim, just about where the mirrors are.

Dude, you never heard of sarcasm? You're stating the obvious!
THAT'S why I picked "that" quote, cos it rings true.
