Need rear hub assembly

I developed a bering noise coming from one of my rear wheels - already ruled out the brakes and tires, so Im pretty certain that it is in fact the bering. What's a good parts source for our vehicles? The $tealer in my area wants $110 for a hub, which I found a little offensive. Any links, names, phone#'s would be appreciated!

Check DAVEB (Dave Burnette at South Point Nissan). His # should be in the stickies I think.

Hmm...how to best explain it - I guess a dull whine ranging from inaudiable at 15mph or so, to quite noticable at highway speed. the noise does not change pitch with rpms, but speed instead, nor is it affected when I brake. I rotated my tires front to back and it still comes from the rear (passangers side). Im fairly certain its the bearing.

yeah that is exactly what it sounded like when a rear bearing went bad on my old Integra - got VERY loud at highway speeds but couldn't hear it going slow......I don't think you need a whole new hub, though....just take your hub off, take it to a shop and get the bearing pressed out, and have a new bearing pressed in......that's exactly what it shows in the Maxima shop manual, by the way. Unfortunately, I don't think you can DIY without a bearing press....on my teggy you could press it out yourself, but our bearings are different setup in the hub - you really need a machine press or bearing press tool.....

Where do I get the bearing by itself? I cannot find it on a parts list...

hmm....I assumed Nissan sold the bearing, since the Nissan shop manual shows how to remove and re-install a new bearing...but now that I look closer at the shop manual diagrams, it looks like the bearing is actually installed in the hub as you originally said. On the other hand, the FRONT bearings can be replaced independently
Front:
Wheel Bearing NFAX0011S02
When replacing wheel bearing, replace complete wheel bear-ing
assembly (Inner races and outer race).
1. Remove bearing inner race (outside).

sorry about that...I assumed the rear would be the same, but I guess not.

Is this the hub that you need? It's number 4 in the pic. It costs $80.34.

keep in mind though that each dealer sets their own prices...there is no "set" Nissan part prices.....

Ok - looking at the parts diagram above - do I need to get #5 and #6 with the hub as well?

You surely need the ABS ring. The Nissan service manual says not to reuse it. The hub may or may not come with the wheel lug studs. They don't cost that much anyway. You will need a press to install those parts as well.
