hey, for a real CAI, is there any drilling/cutting necessary?

i was working on a Subaru 2.5RS this weekend and there's factory locations(!) for CAI, intercooler, yadayada! (jealous of this mess....)

OSCAI peopoe... where does the end of the tube... end up? does it just dangle there in the engine bay?

for the PRCAI you will have to cut a hole in the fender. For the OSCAI, you can stick the tube either inside the splash guard or outside. But, you should make it face forward. Don't let it hang straight down.....you will not get the full effect that way

If you get a CAI u have to cut a 3.5" hole in the side of the engine bay to get the filter there infront of the wheel well...

on my OSCAI i got a tube that goes down i cut the plastic cover on the bottom of the engine and put it under there and routed it under the radiator and up out the front airdam... it doesnt look gourgeous especially cause i used an aluminum hose (im gonna change it to a black one) but it is the most functional place for it since it is facing forward and it is a ram air effect... the only thing is it is long and takes a 90 deg turn... i would take pics just i left my digicam at work...

If i would do it a i would get the circle drill bit with a 3.5" diameter to it... its round with teeth at the end of it... they have them at home depot

hmmm.. nice... but...

hmm... not to diss, i'm sure the OSCAIs do their job, but it does look a little... ahem... ghetto. hence the name Ooglie, eh?

i think i'll stick with the JWT for now.. maybe later i'll go for the PRCAI.

thanks for the tips, tho.
