Have $1,000, rims or bodykit

What do you all think, should I get a full bodykit or 18" Katana rims?? I like how the stillen aero kit looks on lowered maxima's, but then again, I've had my car for 3 years now and no aftermarket rims; mainly due to the fact that non-working fools have stolen rims off my cars in the past.

When you get older you'll regret having spent that $1000 on something so frivolous. Seriously. Save the money for repairs, a new tv, or anything else!

I completely agree, I regret everything I've ever done to my car except tint, which isn't really a mod. When I think of the thousands I spent on Intakes, exhausts, rims, tires, etc, I want to kick myself in the ***.

Agreed. Unless you have lots of it to spare, save your money for more practical things. I know some of us sound like old men saying this to you ( ), but it should be something to consider...especially as you get older.

Modding your car is fun and offers a lot of satisfaction, but in the end, you're pouring money into something that depreciates in value every day you own it, and nothing you put in will help that.

Peace.

I couldn't agree with the saving comments more.

I spent WAAYYYY too much money modding and customizing my last car. I don't regret doing it because I had a lot of fun performing the mods myself and just driving that car. But, when it came time to get something more practical as a daily driver, I found that I had substantially decreased the value of the car because of the mods I had done to it. While I always knew that would be the case, I was also not prepared to have yet another car relegated to project/weekend status.

rims/tires, you could save it, but that wasnt your question...if you wanted to know about mutal funds im sure you woulda asked for that, not wheels or a bodykit. Do i regret spending money on my car, absolutely not.

I've stopped blowin $$ on the car cause it's just addicting. Maybe when I get outta college and have money flowin in, blowing $1000 wont be a big deal, but now I wish I had that kinda $$!! If you are so lucky as to actually have it in excesss, get new rims I say!

I'm 30 years old and have already spent loads of money on my past cars; it's just that we are refiancing the house and getting some equity out.

So what do you all think of the Katana VR-6 in gunmetal with a lip; I saw them at wheelmax.com; here's the link...http://www.wheelmax.com/Wheels/Katana/katana.htm

Anybody buy from wheelmax before?

Thanks for all the input.

After I had my kit installed I knew within the next week or two I had to find some new wheels........ and I did. Thank god Dixit was selling his for a good price.

Definitly do the rims and then body kit.

RIMS!!! I have a set of RH C2 EVO's 18's for sale. One wheel is cracked but not too bad. It still holds air. Their are tires on them but they are too small for a Maxima.

$500

save, but since that is not am option, go with rims first. If you really want a kit you could get the a.e. kit which comes prepainted and factory matched.

i guess i'll be the only one that says kit...lol @ me. either way you can't get wheels or kit for $1000, but the kit and paint would probably be less than the wheels & tires.

consider that once you put larger wheels on the car you'll need to get your suspension done or you'll get the dreaded 4x4 effect which means another $400 at least for the suspension. imo you can pull off some kits with stock wheels easier than upgraded wheels with no drop. of course i'm biased but that's my .02

You're not going to get any rims for just $1000. Maybe you can get a nice set of tires for that much... I say get some D2 coilovers. Put the left over money in the bank.

My suspension is already taken care of as shown in my signature; Eibach Pro-kit with Tokico shocks.

"save, but since that is not am option, go with rims first. If you really want a kit you could get the a.e. kit which comes prepainted and factory matched."

Where exactly can I get an a.e kit prepainted????

you are planning on taking $1000 worth of equity out of you house, (an appreciating
asset), and putting it into rims or a bodykit for you car?

think about that.
