How do you remove the vent above the radio???

Hey guys, how do you remove the vent above the radio? i know you have to pull it out, but are there any clips you have to loosen first? and which way does it come out... up or toward the back of the car? i want to recolor my radio lights and such but i was afraid i'd break the vents. thanks

the best way i found, was to just grab the vent with your fingers and with your thumb push out on the radio, its hard to explain, but just put all 4 fingers in the bottom section of the vent and pull. I dont think youll break it, ive done it lik 6 times on 6 different max's with no prob.

The easiest way is to remove the two screws on the bottom of the radio and with one hand grab the vents while rocking the headunit. Be careful though, if you pull on the headunit too much, the little pegs that hold the radio up when it is unscrewed can break.

The clips on the side hold the piece pretty well. What works well for me is pushing the vnt up and out at the same time. Its scary cus you think its going to break. But that the only way to get it out!
