Bumper cover repair

I have slightly backed into the car that was parked behind mine , and now have the damage from the license plate bolt on my car's rear bumper. The damn head from that bolt came into my rear bumper and took out a small piece of plastic. I would like to repair the hole myself. Does anyone have any experiences or advice on how to do a better job? thx

I don't know how to do it yourself, but I'd ask one of those shops who's only purpose for living is repairing today's plastic bumper covers. They have a way to weld the plastic and make it perfectly smooth, like there was never a cut.

I would think they might fix it for you for a reasonable sum. But it'd still be your problem to paint it over.
