How much did you pay to have the y pipe installed?(those who did it yourself, good for you) I would too, but I'm a small business owner w/ no time and the soddering 02 sensor extention part I rather not deal with-

I had some tool at the local Meineke quote me for 3-4 hrs labor and between $250-$300, and a local Mobil service Master Mecanic said roughly 2hrs labor approximately ~$140ish - big discrepancy between the two- just curious what your shops charged so I can avoid getting it put in the pooper-

I paid $100 at IMP up in Clifton, NJ.

 

It is fairly easy to do yourself if you have a jack and a few tools. No soldering required. All you have to do is remove the clip on the O2 sensor and it will extend far enough. One trick is to remember how many turns you twisted the wire to take it out. Then twist it that many times before screwing it back in.

forget soldering man...if anything, just unplug the damn thing, screw it in, then extend it and plug it in again. no SES light issues with unplugging it as long as you don't turn it on between that process.
the only time it would take a while is rusted on bolts and a shave down if the bolt at that curve is too long. something though that a shop shouldn't take long in doing. i would say MAAAAAAAAAAAAAX $150 install, and even that is too much. this is like a half hour job at most, and i'm being very serious. it's a couple bolts, it drops down. screw new ones in, done....nothing more to it.

Heck if the sensor stretches, even better.....Judging by my conversation w/ Brian Catts and by included instructions it appeared that extending the sensor via more wire/solder was a must....

 

I think Jeff at Maximum Tuning is charging $80 for installation.

 

I had it installed the same time as I had by budget b-pipe fabed to fit, new custom rear section made, and to fix all the crappy welds a shop did before when I got the POS powertech muff installed.

It costed me $140.

 

for all that? man, I wish there was some nickel and dimers around here.....

Well after about over an hr torching off the sonbish rusted on bolts, rest was 1-2-3- most def give those who did all that on your backs much props- you crazy grease monkeys

But damn- this y pipe has produced by far the gratest butt dyno gain by far- i haven't even got on the highway yet but difference is apparent in between shifts, I will have to go back Crazyhorse Performance for a dyno in a week or so- Also I need to get my hands on a nissan gasket(the a-hole that put up my budget b pipe did so without one and I have a lil' leak goin on)
