Complete suspension upgrade.

I hate that annoying wobble the car has on turns , rough roads, and potholes. The car seems like its shaking side to side and not just up and down. My friends bmw 330 seems so stable and Maxima feels like a boat compared to it. So if I get illuminas , h and r springs, RSB, and FSB , how much will handling improve? Will it have that BMW solid handling or something close to it at least.

BMW has a much stiffer frame than the maxima.
for BMW-like handling you will need iluuminas, springs, RSB, FSTB, LTB, and SFC's (at least)!! DONT SLEEP ON THE LTB and SFC's....they make a much bigger difference than the FSTB will...

It will darn near be impossible to duplicate the feeling of the suspension of a BMW. For one thing, they use some of the best materials (not the Nissan or aftermarket companies don't) and after all they are RWD. Your car will certainly be able to handle better with the mods but you will sacrifice whatever exists of the luxurious ride. Oh and don't forget some summer sport tires to finish of the good handling.

LTB= Lower Tie Bar...it's kind of like a RSB for the front of the car, if that makes any sense. Check it out: http://www.mattblehm.com/suspension.html

Bl_asd, there's also a stage I LTB that might clear (I have the stage II)

SFC= subframe connectors. They stiffen up our flexible unibody frame construction. I don't have one yet...but someday. They reduce body flex....
check it out: www.warpspeedperformance/sfcs.htm

LTB is like $150 or so, and you can install yourself (though I suggest air tools, otherwise it takes a LONG TIME and alot of muscle)

SFC's are $150-250 depending on how many stages you get. Prob another $100-200 to get them welded on by a shop.

Not trying to flame you here. Have you ever test driven a Maxima w/the SFCs?
I had driven many Bimmers and my car is as stiff, if not better than them.

I'm sure it definitely increases the structural and torsional rigidity of the body but I just feel that BMWs, especially 3-Series have a one of kind suspension feel. And to answer your question, no. I guess I shouldn't really talk. I just figured with a drop and all other suspension mods the car will ride a little harder. I know that with the Bimmers that I've driven, they have been hard when necessary yet soft enough to soke up pot holes and bumps.

That is one of the many benefits of having a rigid chassis. The car will handle better without effecting ride comfort. It actually improves the overall dynamic of the suspension. Most European or high end car manufactures incorporate this philosophy to their structural design.

I do agreed w/Irish44j with the LTB’s. It dramatically enhances the steering by making it more responsive. It also tightens the “light” feel of the stock steering wheel. Just make sure all the connecting bolts/nuts are REALY tight when installed.
