Hey, Everyone!
Has everyone seen the latest Maxima commercial?
It's the one where a Maxima sits in the middle of nowhere and Suzanne Vega's song 'Tom's Diner' plays. The sun begins to set and all of a sudden the Max launches, going faster and faster and faster. Then it stops as the sun sets even further in front of it.
Man, I loved the sound of that accelerating engine in the commercial! I swear I thought the Maxima would go into warp speed!

....but it could also be Sterling Mist.....the two colors look similar in certain types of light.

I saw it last night. Great commercial. It's pretty clever. I was confused when I saw the car racing to the sun, but then I realized what was going on.

I own a SE automatic with 17" with LSD! But since its an automatic, I couldn't do what the commerical did!
Perhaps I could use some transmission synthetic oil and additctive to my gear box, making it smoother when shifting manually with automatic.....
Talking about Maxima at warp speed, my friend in his path finder was with me at the red light, when I took off, I was at 3000rpm at 1st gear and 2500rpm at second gear and gone off pretty far letting teh car accelrate smoothly at 2000rpm. The next day back to school, the guy in the path finder was telling everyone that I was flooring the gas taking off! But really, I never exceeded 3100rpm.
WHen I told another person that I never floor the gas, he said, "yah right, maxima can't go fast." Then I ignored the guy for a week. When I go out for lunch, I don't take him.

Was it an SE or SE/AE??? It looked like it was the standard SE with 17 wheels. Tailpipe, front chin, and wheels do not look like AE. In fact, last commercial for the AE (Shuttle Launch) only used an SE. Nice seeing so many $$$$$$ going to advertising though!!!

Why do you think Nissan's advertising the Max like crazy? A new commercial too... We're thinking that they're trying to market the Max as the aggressive sports sedan that it is, but reality tells me that they're helping to clear off the 2001's off the lots b4 the new Altima comes to town! Plus, it's keeping the current Max owners happy with what they have until the '02s come in.
Me thinks it's working!

It brought a tear to my eye! I've been tryin to get everyone else I know to see it. It gives me bragging rights.
BTW, it's definately not an AE and I was wondering why they didn't use one. Clue: the guy shifted a black leather **** not a metal one.

I just saw the commercial today FOR THE FIRST TIME and i even got to see it twice----that is THE BEST COMMERCIAL I HAVE EVER SEEN FOR A CAR they didnt do anything like have it fall from a tree or ride on widing roads they showed THE TRUE POWER OF A MAXIMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!
Saw it for the first time tonite..twice during the yankee game..

I only got to see half of it. Just right before he braked 
I wanna see it again! It looks awesome.
You know the one they did in the desert? Was that a GLE? Since it did have 5-spokes and no spoiler. I didn't get a good look at the taillights.
