P0140 Code = which O2 sensor?

I getting a P0140 code on my 01 manual trans Max. I'm told it's the bank 1 sensor 2 O2 sensor, but no one can tell me exactly which one it is. Also, the ground strap from the body to the exhaust was broken so I fixed it, but the light came on again after a few days. Could this have blown the sensor in the first place? BTW I haven't noticed any degraded performance or milage.

Thanks in advance for the help.

John.

John,
A quick check of the service manual says that P0140 is the right side O2 sensor, P0160 is the left one.

Cheers,

I have the same code and it appeared within the first 20-40 miles of putting on my Warpspeed Y-Pipe from group deal. I been working on cars for 10+ years and there can't really be anything from install that causes this. I've had it reset and it keeps returning. Is there a fix to this with the aftermarket Y-pipe. All the talk about no engine codes with these Y-pipes and I get one. Combined with the fairly small amount of power increase I feel like I just wasted alot of time and a few $$$'s. Any advice is appreciated.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but when an aftermarket Y pipe is installed it does not have the pre-cat as the OEM Y pipe does, at least on the 00-02, correct? If so, then you will get a constant code since the rear o2 sensor "knows" the pre-cat is missing. Correct? Therefore, unless you get a 02 simulator you're stuck with the CEL.

i have the p0140 code as well, my CeL light is still on i keep resetting it, and it still comes back, i will eventually replace the 02 sensor and clear it again before i do my smog eventually. i also got the cel light when i put on my stillen y pipe-reading high voltage signal to the 02 sensor. i know someone that had this problem, and was fixed by changing the 02 sensors and getting the ecu reflashed by the dealership.
