MaxxTuning front lip-painted and installed properly

Well, I finally brought my car to the shop to have my rear bumper painted and my maxxtuning front lip painted and installed. I brought it in monday morning and finally got it thursday afternoon. I must say the results were well worth the wait. I took the ugly front molding off myself today because it looked horrible.

I will have better pics in a little while. My friend and I took some pics of our cars before when it was sunny and he has a better camera than I do, so everything should look a lot nicer. I just wanted to get these pics up asap.

Hi,

Since you are in NY, what body shop did you go to? If you don't mind, how much did it cost?

Thanks.

F.M.G auto on McLane ave. It was $350 for my back bumper to be painted and the lip painted and installed. The guy there also painted my passenger side view mirror because there was ugly touch-up paint on it from the first owner. He said it as i was about to leave, kind of like an "oh yea, we painted the sideview mirror..."

Looks good, but damn I would have dropped the max before betting any body work done. After getting my kit and not having rims drove me crazy..... I can't imagine what having a huge wheel gap is going to you.

How did the shop install the MT lip?

I just got mine painted and plan on installing it soon...

Did they just use double sided tape and a couple of screws in the ends?

They cut a bit of the molding around the wheel-well so that it was flush along the inside. From what I see, there are 2 screws inside each wheel-well and 2 in front where the 2 big holes are right under the liscence plate. I am assuming that there is some tape, but I really don't know where.

Is it just me or is the paint not matched up? The lip looks lighter then the rest of the car.

Yea, it is ever slightly off, but you don't notice it unless you are staring at it very closely.

paintmatching is probably the most bothersome part about doing any type of add on. at least you dont have white, definitely the hardest color to match

It's probably the reflection since the lip points up and the bumper points down

Yes maxpo, it is because it was partly sunny. In shade, you can't see any difference. THere is a slight difference like i said, but not all that much and its really only seen up close in the sun
