Does anyone know if their is a way I can find out how my SE came from the factory? or maybe some one can answer this question I have.

My SE doesn't have a Digital AC controller, do all SE come with a digital AC controller. I think mine was taken out and replaced with a manual one. I think.

And if it did come like that from the factory, is there a way to make it digital?

I got a SE and it dosent have a Auto A/C controller.

 

Do you have leather? The 'digital' climate control AKA Automatic Climate Control is part of the Leather Seating Package (Standard on GLE, optional on SE). That package also consists of 'similated' leather door inserts as well as 4 way power passenger seats. To get this Package on the SE, you must order the Bose system (standard on GLE, optional on SE, some GXE's had this). In order to get the Bose system, you must order the Sunroof package (optional, ALL models, GXE's had this as a single order item also). In order to get the Sunroof package, you must order the Comfort and Convenient package (standard on 2002-2003 GXE,SE and 2000-2003 GLE models).

Basically, If your Maxima came with the Digital Climate Control from the Factory, it'll have all of the above options. The options left is the Meridian package which consists of a trunk lid trim, side airbags, heated seats. The Traction Control System (automatic only) is also available, but only if you get the Meridian Package.

A quick internet search on "MAXIMA SE" or "2000-2003 MAXIMA" will show you pictures of SE maxima's without digital climate control or digital climate control.

 

Well My car has leather only, no sunroof, no 4 way passenger seat, heated seat and no traction control. I guess the maxima I got came pretty bare, aside from the leather. oh well

 

I have an SE without leather and standard heating unit.

They have factory packages and there are also the one offs that come to dealers with different options. I actually saw a car when getting mine that had frost interior and leather, but no Bose and no Sunroof. I guess they do the leather for the people that just want that and no frills. Yuor SE is legit. If you are really hard pressed to get the climate control shop around, they are on the org as well as ebay.

All you have to do is swap them out.

 

I don't think you can just swap a manual climate control with an auto.

 

So you mean that you CAN get an SE with leather but no auto climate? I've seen 3 of them myself, but I thought all 3 had aftermarket leather...

 

My SE got leather heated seats, digital climate control, sunroof. All the options.

 

Most of the time, they are aftermarket items added after the car was built. US cars can only get them from the factory through packages.
