Paint/and Windshield Chips.

How's it going everybody. I'd like to add my two cents to this discussion. Having babied, washed and waxed this car every weekend, I am extremely dissapointed in the
durability of Nissan's clear coat, and the various windows.
I used to own a 1989 econo-box Nissan Sentra, reliable car, we're talking about some cheap construction, but those
windows and paint held up much better than this "flagship"
sedan. I traveled to Nevada one time and came back with
sandblasted windows, and paint from the sand that the snow plowers use to cut down on ice buildup. The Maxima is only 6
months old. I don't know if some substandard(cheap)polyurethane paint has been used, or if the clear coat wasn't allowed to cure properly, but I'm with you guys, add
me to the petition towards Nissan. It's heart breaking
every time a new scratch or chip is discovered, I've lost
count, you folks know what I'm talking about. Thanks for
letting me vent.

I FORGOT TO ADD THIS.
My car is a 2001 NISSAN MAXIMA GXE auto tranny, big mistake(should have gone with the 5-speed),with the GXE comfort and convenience package, rear spoiler, splash guards, and 6-disc cd changer.I respect the Maxima except for the d@##ed
windows and clear coat.

I notice their low quality clear coat when I left a bird drop on the hood during a hot summer day for 4 hours.....guess wat it gave me....a blister/distortion on clear coat in the shape of that bird drop and u can see it from certain angle....glad my body shop took it out by using 2000 grid sand paper.
either nissan uses sh*tty clear coat or that damned bird just have serious stomach problem.
could it be............
Nissan in Japan paints because I also have maroon 98 Altima which was built here in the US and the paint on it is fine beside the swirls from former user but other than that it looks great. pollution restrictions for the type of paint used in Japan. Maybe??!!
they took the pavement off on the Belt Pkwy near my house and my windshield got raped!! I got like 3 chips in it now and like 1000 miniscule imperfections that I see when it rains and I use the wipers... this is not cool... But whatever... gonna wait for 1 of them to spread and then i will have it taken care of by insurance...
I just looked in the dictionary and Maxima means paint that chippith awayeth! Doo ball its gonna happen, just remeber we told you so! I had my entire hood and bumper repainted and it is doing the same damn thing, AGAIN!
P.S.
I have more chips in my windshield than Frito-Lay. The sad thing is, I baby my car. I am so fickle about my car that my wife says that the guy in the Jetta commercial, the one that he runs and dives to keep the basket from hitting his car, that my wife says that commercial reminds her of me!
